Woah. X-play threw the book at Crysis

I can't for the life of me understand whats so special about this game. It doesn't even have a concept that interests me. Aliens? Gears? Power suits? Crackdown? Pretty graphics? Um okay. Smart A.I.? Play gears and halo 3 on the hardest settings.

3 out of 5. Man that's harsh. But, I guess they have a good point about the developers focusing a little too much on eye candy and not enough on physics and AI. But I still did not see that coming. Hopefully the big online dept store of patches will make everything all better.nervmeister

The physics is the best in any game to date by a mile, and the ai is fantastic - probably the most real in a game (real as in its behaviour - guys trip and stumble, duck and dodge, run and hit the groudn when snipers fire, scream and spray everywhere when attacked by a cloked player)

And the campaign was way to short. MP is great, but to be honest Crysis Powerstruggle has got me fixated. Mnnn nukes and vtols.

Eh? That makes no sense considering the AI is quite clever and there's more physics in Crysis than in any FPS ever.

Does a game have to be special to be good? What's so special about Gears of War? What's so special about Halo 3? Crackdown actually is special, so I'm not gonna touch that one. A mix between Crackdown, Gears of War and Halo 3 sounds pretty good to me.

Two words, non-linear. Oh it might lead you through the story is a linear fashion but the way you approach objectives is never the same twice thanks to the way the game is setup. Halo 3 and Gears were a snorefest the second time through for me...just like every other linear FPS i've played. That's why it is so special....now you tell me whats so great about Gears and H3? ;).

if you shoot at them from like 200+ meters away, with a silencer, behind a bush

they dont see you and run around like iddiots looking for you

My brother just built a brand new rig + LCD Monitor for around $4000,

he planned on playing Crysis but ended up playing COD4,

says Crysis is good, but the fun factor is just not there.

personally I thought it was sh*t. It was better than Episode 1, but it really isn't that good. It made me feel like I was replaying the original Half Life 2, but accompanied by one of the most annoying women in gaming and dumbed down vehicles. The Shotgun and normal machine gun feel incredibly useless and the fun weapons run out of ammo way to quickly (the original atleast had more ammo for the fun weapons). Oh and not to forget how little fun you could have with the gravity gun this time except for knocking down cars off a brigde. The only positive thing I can think off was trying to kill a hunter with a crowbar. (haven't succeded, someone may need to give me some tips)
