What is the XBone if it ISN'T as powerful as the PS4? Let's just, for the sake of academic argument, assume the sauce never comes to pass. What then? You're obviously not happy with the current state of your console. Why not get a PS4 now while you wait for the sauce? After all, it IS the benchmark you weigh your XBox against.

Who said it's a blunder? Apparently this is designed with forward thinking in mind. Look how big the heat sink is on the X1 clearly they did this so they can push the GPU. This is not a blunder at all. Even Intel has come out and said this is the biggest leap in tech in a long time. MS knows what they are doing and they are going to stretch the X1 legs big time and the Sony fanboys will be am crying massively.

What can be done by DX12 that the PS4 can't do? It begs the obvious question, does it not? The PS4 has more hardware potential in a literal physical sense. Whatever re-imagining, programming technique, or otherwise that the XBone is capable of is more so effective when applied to PS4.
The has never been nor will there ever be a time when DirectX is capable of effects or performance gains that cannot be done when programming in GPU language, which is precisely what PS4 developers have access to. DX12 does not change the paradox in XBone game design where your highest bandwidth pipe to the framebuff comes from the most limited bank of memory imaginable. This is a sad game that Lems play and it is the key to their downfall. All the world sees is a fanbase demoralized by how much behind their machine is compared to the competing (and cheaper) other machine. This rampant brand loyalty put a TV box in their living rooms they were swearing was just a rumor a year ago. This rabid love for brand above games has them continuing a Jihad in forums all around the world that does not have any base in reality.
The reality is this. It's Generation 8. No one is fresh to the idea that companies over promise and under deliver. Sony was certainly guilty in the past. Nintendo simply ducked the entire notion of delivery to avoid the hype problem. Microsoft certainly has a track record of not delivering on their claims as of late. All this grand standing from the likes of MrXBoxOne over a shady claim is proof that jumping out of your chair and running to the store to buy an XBone is a most unwise decision.

I like the xbox, I own one, and I hope DX12 does indeed improve performance by a lot... but this guy is an idiot and embarrassing.. On behalf of all X1 owners I apologize for this guy.
Considering the PS4 uses the GPU for a lot of operations on the platform. I wonder if they will be able to off load some of that workload to the CPU?
DX12 will use all threads of the CPU evenly, freeing up a lot of GPU resources. All the Xbox one games out right now are one thread heavy. Thread 0 on the CPU. With DX12 they will be able to optimize for all Threads. As demonstrated at GDC.
Does Sony have a solution in place to combat this issue? Serious question.
I know XB1 has a dedicated Sound chip and some move engines. I'm not seeing where the PS4 can reduce GPU dependency in the platform? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Isn't the PS4 architecture more of a straight forward Brute force design?
