Will There Be a Nintendo Direct or E3 Press Conference to Announce NX ?

Since Nintendo will most likely officially announce and physically show the NX at the 2016 E3, will they in fact hold an actual press conference or will they stick with a Nintendo Direct to make the presentation.

My opinion is they should show up and have Reggie hype this thing up in person and try to dominate E3 with their latest console entry.

What do you guy's think?

Nintendo has already stated months ago no news on NX until E3 2016 and this was before E3 2015 started.

We might hear about things here or there unofficially, but we won't get a full OFFICIAL reveal until E3 2016

The reveal will happen before E3.

E3 is where the full blowout will happen.

Sort of like what the PS4 and Xbox One did.

Nintendo might want to show people the initiative is still there by having an actual on stage presser rather than an unorthodox prerecorded jumbled mess. Maybe Reggie & Co. do not want to be booed off stage which would have surely occurred last year. I guess their hesitation is understandable.

I though they were supposed to have a big announcement set for Thursday, I assume at The Game Awards 2015, there's supposed to be a number of big reveals here.

Anyhow, I'm guessing a Legend of Zelda (FOR WII U!!) trailer finally, E3 will be a definitive NX port at launch announcement.

Knowing Nintendo, it will be unveiled in a dull Direct.

If its releasing late 2016 then they need an early 2016 announcement well before E3. You don't announce a console only 5 months before release.

The days of announcing a console over a year before release are over. Sony got it right. Announce early in the year, build up hype until E3 and then have a full blow out of games and further launch plans.

Correction, they never said E3, they said, "We won't speak about the NX in further detail until 2016."

They should have a proper conference, its a new console we're talking about... But its Nintendo, they're special so who knows.

Nintendo will announce the Nintendo NX at E3 2016, But Nintendo will not have a proper press conference instead a digital event or just a Nintendo Direct. Nintendo has given up on traditional E3 press conferences.

If Nintendo knows what they're doing, hell no.

Then again, we can easily dismiss their previous blunders as Nintendo being Nintendo. IMHO, they'd have to aim for Witcher 3 on Ultra at 2160p30, so as to future-proof the console against the PlayStation 5. Without any form of future-proofing, it'll suffer the same problem as the Wii U: Playing catch-up with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

No they said no news until 2016. They didn't single out E3. In fact we're likely to hear about the NX before E3 as said above. Nintendo could easily have a press event where it invites game media and news outlets similar to their event right before the Wii U launched that they had in NYC and live stream that. The debut and reveal of the NX is something Nintendo is going to want to themselves and they won't get that at E3. They will at their own event. The last thing they need to do with the NX is share the spotlight.

E3 2016 will be all about the NX. I kind of prefer it that way. Otherwise we have hype for maybe a year to release. E3 is likely half a year away from release. I still think that is a bit long to wait for something that you want.

If they do a E3 conference I really hope they bring the funny stuff.
