After they add the rumble back to you which is inevitable, then yeah, its a possibility. It's not a deviation from the traditional controller So it wouldn't be surprising at all.
No Nintendo console has ever used the same controller for more than one generation so don't expect it to happen. PS: Wii 2 has to be the most unsexy name I have ever heard... :P
