Wii Fit sells 90 copies a minute

According to UK retailer Woolworths, Wii Fit has been selling 90 copies for each minute that passes by. A good number of people also waited outside the store in the morning to be one of the first to purchase the game. Although not every store has sold out of copies, it is expected that many stores will run out of stock as soon as today. Wii Fit launched in Europe just a few hours ago, and has already been released in Japan. American gamers can get their hands on a copy on May 19th.

I did that with a weight once. Don't think they like it at the gym though. I told them i was trying to replicate Wiifit...they just laughed. :|

I guess it's non gamers that are buying Rock Band, and sports and racing games too...

I want Wii-fit and I'm a gamer, because I want to learn some Yoga for my lady friends...

Considering it is all sold out Nintendo obviously didn't ship many copies, plus game is completely sold out and I'm certain they will have a bigger shipment than woolworths

IT's called CONVIENCE!!!

Sure a gym membership is good...I have one to the local Mooris Nautilas. But right now I'm thinking of canceling it...Why? Well, this is my life...three months in China doing work, three months in the STates then its back to China again...When I'm in the States, I'm usually working late, then if I have spare time, have to worry about a very preganant wife! So yea, I just don't have that much time to go to the gym anymore even though it takes only 5 minutes drive to get there. That's why both me and my wife are getting the game. $90 bucks maybe step, but hopefully, i can at least get some exerceise out of it no matter how minor it seems! My unsightly belly is getting bigger everyday and I need to do something about it (yea, mrs. starting to complain now due to my unavoitable eating habit, especially when I'm in China or working too much!).

amen...i think that many are losing the sight of the fact that it is a game, and nothing more. even Nintendo has stated that it is by no means a replacement for regular exercise.

No its because some gamers won't real games to sell that never do. Look at games like Okami, Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts, Ninja Gaiden, etc. Awful sales. You can thank the people who bought Wii Fit for that. They basically bought into a gimmick. Just like everyone who buys Madden every year.

To my knowledge Wii Fit does not weigh accurately. According to Wii Fit I'm "overweight" becaues I have 90% muscle and 10% fat. That means every athelete is overwight. It does not take muscle into consideration. This is a huge rip-off! Did Nintendo do this purposely? I doubt it. Seems like an honest mistake from what I can tell. They need to do better research next time. It could hurt them in the end if they don't.

Haven't seen any adverts on T.V yet (I live in EU) but then again it came out yesterday so I expect to see some soon, especially considering the amount of advertising they put in mario kart wii

There would literally be at least one mario kart wii advert at the end of every programme (during the break between the end of one programme and the beggining of another)

Yeah, bout time we got some high quality casual games coming out.

GTA 4 defys casual and hardcore, it's mainly in its own realm and truely for all gamer audiences which is rare. Difficulty can be found if needed or casualness can be adjusted to at every facet of the game.
