Why MS countering PS4 sale number with garbage zombie stats?

Xbone is a flop MS, we know it, no need to hide it, people can smell it a mile away

Well this makes me wonder, why doesn't sony post numbers about the games? Do people not play them enough? Or are they too busy posting on forums worrying about how much the unit is selling rather than playing those games?

LOL so true, MS isn't thinking about countering every move Sony makes. The Xbox is its own entity, right now I see it as PS4 vs Wii U because both are just game consoles. Xbox is taking it to the next level.

Because their sales numbers are shit. Since when has MS not liked flaunting sales numbers? It's all they did last gen, the fact that they aren't doing it this gen only reveals the obvious.

It has to be because they have double the amount of sales that MS has, broke many launch records, so it must be obvious that people are playing the games. Its not like people are buying the console and just sitting on them is it lol (minus the scalpers trying to make a profit)

those stats 1000% more interesting then some stupid sales numbers that we know damn well all their systems are going get sold.

ANYWAYS those types of stats is NOTHING new in the gaming world. Microsoft has done it with many other games and other publishers/devs also

Just like people who link their achievement scores or trophies on their forum profiles, no one cares how many achievements some douche has that lives 15,000 miles away and is a complete stranger.

Those stats are important for Microsoft though, they'll rake in more cash when they get sold to advertisers.

It's pretty obvious why they aren't releasing any more sales numbers. The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One. Microsoft needs to keep things positive so they don't compare Xbox One sales with PS4 sales.

And on the same day (11/29), Sony launched the PS4 in 20 countries around the world and sold 700K during that weekend (excluding NA). I very much doubt the Xbox One even touched those numbers during Black Friday. Not to mention that report only accounts for two retailers

If there sales were so great they would have mentioned it by now. Instead of countering Sonys statement of over 2.1 million consoles sold with there own numbers, MS released a statement saying how "50 million man hours" have been spent on the xbone.

Simply because it would be a bad PR move to announce a lower sales figure than Sony. It's a common marketing technique that if a competitor is leading the market in one aspect you just draw focus to another.

All signs point to PS4 outselling Xbox One at the minute by 3-2 (roughly a 1/3). Why would Microsoft feel the need to announce it?

If you had the second best Selling Car in the world you wouldn't announce that "We're the second best selling car in the world" as that just encourages buyers to look at the top selling car thus pulling focus.

Why do cows think MS is supposed to update sales numbers every couple of days? Sony only updated theirs because of the EU launch not because they reached some imaginary milestone. MS isn't Sony and doesn't need to hide sales numbers, you know like combing last gen sales with current gen. I only know 1 company that needed to do that to look competitive.

i can only hope the ps4 outsells the x1 by ten to one so sony fanboys can get over their collective inferiority complex about losing last gen.

Pretty sure the PS4 probably has outsold the xbox one, its been on the market 50% longer.

Get back to us in february when consoles are readily available in every store and sales arent dependent on the efficiency of supply chains, brand loyalists and scalpers. AKA when the general public starts weighing in.

The X1 is never going to beat the PS4 in terms of sales because its releasing in less territories. Its not rocket science people.

Half if not all those estimated PR fluff numbers are probably the development team with their pretentious white XB1s(if they got the disc drives working :/) who were playing XB1 games long before it launched.

That's not true. 360 sold is less countries yet managed to keep the lead for 7-8 years. It really depends on how many units to get shipped to each country. Small countries or countries where consoles don't sell well won't get a lot of shipments. The deciding factors will be NA, EU, Japan (though not as much as it used to be). Win 2 out of the 3 and you'll most likely sell the most.

Another lem who doesn't follow current events. Elop is the soon to be President of the devices division of MS which includes Xbox. He is also a candidate to replace Ballmer as CEO. He wants to sell Xbox and kill Bing. If he doesn't make CEO, he will be in a position to do a Nokia on the Xbox brand and slowly kill it off that way.

Regardless, Xbone's days are numbered. And it feels so good.
