Why is there almost no hype for Little Big Planet 3?

LBP3 is launching in about 2 months, but i honestly have see almost no news, or discussions anywhere about the game. Not saying there's no hype at all, but, don't see much talk about it compared to other exclusives like Bayonetta 2, SMB, FH2, DC, SO and Halo MCC.

It's not like the series isn't well received. Besides Karting, LBP1, 2, PSP and VITA are all above 85 on MC (1 at 95). Media Molecule is working on Tearaway Unfolded, but Sumo Digital seemed to do a good job when presenting the game.

I'll be honest, i don't know much of the series, having only played LBP1. And while i did liked it, it didn't fully grab me. But, LBP3 did seem fun from the presentation.

Do you feel the same way? Are you hyped for it or feel meh about it?

1. The series is the epitome of meh. Crap gameplay and the creation aspects were cool in the first one, now I just don't care.
2. Media Molecule isn't making it.

It sucks....even the devs who made the game couldn't get the controls down in their presentation lol.

Media Molecule isn't making it and honestly though i loved LBP and LBP (to a lesser extent) i'm just burned out on the series.

My daughter and I played the first a lot together. With the jump to PS4, a new game in the series will keep us going. I have it preordered as a Christmas gift for her.

Sony is milking the franchise.

Don't really enjoy the series. The creation aspect was cool but it's just boring to play.

Franchise fatigue. The PSP and Vita games were pure over kill.

And making it a cross gen game was also a bad idea.

The only reason I'm hyped about this game is because Media Molecule didn't make it. Tarsier made a much better LBP game than them.

I never felt creative in LBP's sense of the word and I'd have much preferred a rock solid and lengthy Platformer with some neat mechanics.

Ironically, Sackboy would be a great mascot for a Mario style game.

Well it was a cool idea but it's actually not much fun aside from playing the Rube Goldberg machines made by others. The gameplay stinks; it just doesn't have good mechanics. They need to make the controls sharper

because it's two months away, and it looks like more of the same. And it's a multiplat

if only the gameplay weren't so terrible this series would be huge because it's really charming and the content creation tools are very intuitive, they allow you to create almost anything from simple things to very complex ones. I even seen people making first person shooters with it but while that's impressive the gameplay's just too slow, laggy and floaty. People have complained a lot about it but they refuse to change it because it's "intentional". When Little Big Planet 2 was announced they said they were going to allow the user to kind of manipulate the jumping abilities and physics but it never happened.

Because LittleBigPlanet 2 was totally shit. DLC crap, maps not working at all, totally broken game, nothing new.

so you've played LBP3?

i kind of enjoyed the original lbp....but its not one of those games you buy unless you see a major change. having new abilities isnt enough for me to be excited

oh and plus im not into 2d platformers that much

I liked the floaty physics. Made the game unique. Otherwise it would just be a clone of mario style platforming.

I'm pretty "meh." I wanted to like LBP, I really did. Love the artstyle and the idea. I think its a little bit niche, not that that's a bad thing. I'm sure people who loved the 1st two titles are very hyped, and even though its not really my think, I still consider it an excellent franchise.

LBP3 is same like LBP2, nothing new.

GarrysMod is better

because its a terrible platformer. the only interesting part of those games what seeing the community made stuff but now that so many games do that its pretty pointless.

What i played? They said its like LBP2. It´s still 2D and gameplay and engine is all same, so there is not much hope.

LBP 3 will offer up something that could've been DLC for LBP 2. Oh and it's multiplat.

The last two, as video games, have been medicore. They appeal to a niche that loves creating content, not playing it.

Likely because it is a known quantity, people only hype games that are industry hyped (ie. hype games they are told to hype) or has good Graphics (in that case most people WHO hype the games don't give a crap about gameplay, only first impressions).

LBP has none of the above, I am sure it has its fanbase, but it is a very known quantity, I would place it in the same area as the Sims, has a following, does not need to be hyped, and likely don't appeal to the kind of people WHO usually hype Things.

Outside of that LBP never had very good controls, which is a pretty big sin in a platformer.

@deadline-zero0: I'm not hyped for it. I don't even have the 2nd game. I've played the first game, but never finished it. I have the urge to play "Puppeteer" now for some reasons. I wish I was at home. I wondered what happened to this PS4 game from Media Molecule.

I have the first one and I got so bored of it I can't even finish it. Tried the demo LBP2... didn't like it either. I have so interest in the third one. Maybe those games are more fun with friends? :/

I didn't really find much enjoyment in LBP2, but I am intrigued by this one just because one of my favorite devs, Sumo Digital, is making it.

He also hyped Kinect Rivals for X1 and continuously made X1 biased polls. But he does consistently bash on the WiiU, but he's usually wrong and gets in trouble for it
