Because an analog stick on a controller does the job. Why would you want a mice? that's where PC belongs.
Playstation mouse. Dreamcast mouse etc. I can also just plug a kb/m into a PS4 and it works, with some games even,
Yeah well I thought about it and am not sure how you would use a mouse hunched over a coffee table and you might get coffee all over your keyboard.
That's why I'm inventing the 'Beeny Pad' and 'Beeny Board'.
It's early days.
I think it's so all the fps games aren't all ruined overnight.
probably because they would need to then segment out controller users from keyboard/ mouse users for online fps games.
Either that or clicking is too difficult for some people.
Unless you are doing some illegal or semi-illegal stuff I don't think most of us have a flat portable surface moving around in our rooms.
I'm talking about a mouse pad.
How would PC gamers use keyboard and mouse as a badge of honour if console peasants had them as standard?

Ah well I am working on that... Behold, the Beany Pad and Beany Board (working title).
Here you can see the Beany Pad and Board being used by an alien sitting on a sofa.
I know you can do this a bit because I made my own mouse mat and did exactly that with the laptop on the coffee table to play World of Tanks. It didn't work. But I did play with the mat on the table and then raised again so my wrist was at the right angle and didn't get sore. THEN I also had a small cushion I also made under my wrist. So yeah. Hand and wrist position is crucial otherwise you get tankers wrist or rsi.
But with the right amount of elevation I believe it might be possible to play with the mat on the sofa beside you.
I haven't made or tested one yet but here is the one I made for the coffee table (being used on kitchen table)...
The PC set up simply doesn’t work in a living room. You can’t melt into a couch or chair with anything other than a controller - you just can’t. A controller will always be more ergonomical than what pc has to offer. A living room is meant for comfort, not sitting upright at attention.
Mice? I think you should be more worried about your roaches.
You got that right
Because consoles gamers are in their clean living room...
not like PC hermits in their moms filthy basement where all Mighty mice are. lol :P
Three reasons:
Combine all three of those things and you have a horrible gaming experience IF you use a mouse.
GO ahead and lock a game to 30FPS on PC and then turn on mouse acceleration and try to play a game while sitting on your couch, you will lose the will to game for at least several hours.

Isn't this just a small mouse mat?
I think the issue might be more fundamental in the ergonomics of rotation of elbows, shoulders and leverage. The mouse itself probably needs a little bit of a re-think (and not just for being an Apple mouse :P).
*edit* Sorry, that's not very constructive of me. Bad day. Nice that you've figured something out that works for you. :)

Actually, No you won't. Using a keyboard and mouse with those restrictions is still better than using a controller. ;)
I already tried with my Eagle Eye mouse/keyboard adapter on the PS3. I found out Killzone 2 and 3 are actually fun once I used keyboard n mouse.
