why are ppl trading in their 360 for ps3 slim?

its very annoying. i am glad that my friends (8 of them) got a ps3. but why did they have to trade in their 360 for it. why couldnt they jsut keep it, i got a 360 because of them. makes no sense whatts so ever. also went to my local gamestop and notice a counter full of used 360. i asked the store clerk if they are seeing a trend of ppl trading in their 360's, he says yes. and its for the ps3 slim.

No offense TC, of course, but you're known for often being a bit hard on the Xbox 360. I want to see a picture of this supposed counter full of 360's being traded in, No one trades in a 360 for a few dollars or whatever Gamestop is pushing these days. Well, maybe a few do, but we have a name for those few, which I won't say here.

Well, If I decide to get a PS3 slim, Ill prob. sell my 360 also (not at gs). Why would I need it anymore? The only reason I have it is because all my friends have it and I can have a party chat going online. Besides that, I don't like the 360 at all.

I wouldn't if I still had mine. The 360 doesn't have a high resale value. But I do see this happening though. People like having the new thing that everyone's getting. Even if they have to trade in for it.

And the gamestops near where i live are giving away games with the slim because they didnt get many preorders. Not that it wont sell well, just whats going on there.

That's totally tue. But some people are just lazy.

All of my friends either have a PS3 or they don't. The slim won't attract any of them to trade in their Xbox or old PS3. I'm a bit jealous that the PS3 slim will transmit Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD to your receiver, since I mainly use mine for Blu-ray. I prefer to play games on my 360 and watch movies on my PS3, but I'm very glad I have a PS3 because Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 will be here soon. It seems to me that people buy which ever system their friends have. They both work great for games, and there aren't really that many exclusives to sway one's decision. Although I would buy another 360 just to play Gears of War.

Its not unbelievable. Last time I checked used hardware at GS there was an entire house of used PSPs. I think I mentioned it here.
