Who will win Summer Game Fest 2022?

Xbox will. But Sony needs it bad. They have nothing. No games, new new IPs, nada. Not sure if Jim Ryan is trolling us now?

Sony gonna take the win here. They got some bombs up their sleeves that they're gonna drop and fill out their lineup for the next year.

@SolidGame_basic: xbox has been getting hit after hit. Every month, another AAA title releases on xbox. Last week, rogue light 2 released on xbox. A console exclusive. Last month tunic released, and on gamepass, another console exclusive. I don't know what you mean by drought, but if we're being completely honest, its the ps5 thats having massive drought right now.

The xbox is the AAA machine, thats all it is.

Probably Xbox because of Starfield and possibly showing the Quake reboot and that Obsidian game. Sony has nothing to show.

Kinda seems like Xbox holds most of the cards right now. Hopefully Nintendo and Sony show some fun stuff.

Up in the air really, could turn out that everyone sucks.

For once, I'll go with Xbox/Bethesda on this round as they seem to have generated the most hype on their games and haven't seen much on Sony & Nintendo.

I know Sony will show more on God of War: Ragnarok as it's the main event for Sony so there's that.

Sony is having a massive drought right now. They need games announced. It’s been months since a big game release and no new game in sight.

Well to be fair, GT7 and H:FW are multiplats in the same scenario.

What massive drought are you referring to?

H:FW launched in February (barely 3 months ago) and GT7 (released a little under 2 months ago) is on the ps5 now.

These last couple years I always expected Sony to be skipping E3 and holding out for TGS because they mainly appeal to weebs anyways and to make their big show at that venue, but then they couldn't even do that the last couple times so I can't honestly say I expect much from them this summer. Even though E3 was canceled, no doubt MS/Xbox are prepping for a big event. MS is usually good about pacing their messaging and hype for Xbox and lately they've been very reserved, hopefully their just edging it until June for a big explosive joygasmic release of gaming for the masses. Granted too Microsoft doesn't have to beat Sony to torment PlayStation fanboys all the same, just has to make them just a little bit insecure and they'll be frothing at the mouth psychos.

Buuuuuuuuuuut if you're asking me to choose out of the consoles, I'd have to say Xbox. In the end it's all about the games and Game Pass alone is just too good of a deal to pass up.

Not really sure what's going on with Sony and Playstation, it's not a bad console, just seems a little underwhelming right now. You gotta give me more than a handful of great games each year, and enough with the cinematic bullshit.

I have no idea why people think sony has nothing to show. we don't know half of ps first party is working on. only a few. like dreams developer, what is naughty dog working on, even cory borog from god of war said he is working on a game that is not god of war.

Cuz they don't :( If they are not milking GodofWar/GranTurismo/Uncharted trio, it's pretty much DOA.

Sony needs to organise and work to a plan. They're just random. They have three AAA games this year and they just banged out two in February and March like they're fast food. One went up against Elden Ring. No marketing, no promotion, no care for timing... Seems like a waste to me.

They should have released Horizon in late March and GT7 in June or July both to massive promotions and build ups imo.

Regardless of when a film studios has completed work on a film, usually they put a lot of care into the marketing and the timing of a release.

I feel like they could have controlled the year to better effect by spreading the three games out and using marketing campaigns. Then letting 3rd party AAAs and smaller games fill out the other spaces.

GT7 should have been a big event, a huge release, huge marketing campaign, the first mainline GT in 9 years.

I just don't really understand Playstation right now.

Yep, there are a lot of games out there. I think independent and small-scale development is really doing well, chomping away at the market share a percent at a time, taking it away from the corporate fatcats that have rested on their laurels for far too long.

Definitely one of the better few years of gaming imo.
