Well I dont know about their other games but I thought Fallout 3's main story was pretty good.
(Much better than New Vegas's story At least from all that I've heard about it)

I think the general consensus is that New Vegas' story ****s all over Fallout 3's one.
Meh, everything bethesda does plot wise feals meaningless after playing the witcher 2.dracolich55The Witcher 2's story isn't all that great at all.
I do. Fallout 3's started great, but went downhill imo. New Vegas had a better story, Yes Man being the best part of it (he's HILARIOUS!). I think we can both agree Up Your Arsenal and Going Commando had better stories than any Bethesda game. I need a Ratchet and Clank sig.

I've no problems with Bethesda's stories, they're not so serious they overwhelm the player with a sense of duty but still have enough gravity to carry weight. Besides, Bethesda games are about the all-around experience which goes far beyond characters and plot.
Bethesda's biggest problem is their own game design, with such massive games you very easily loose track of the main story thus loosing impact.R3FURBISHEDexactly its not exactly a bad story so far and I like the setting, after some war there is an uprising, then the dragons return and the high elves might have something to do with it, I'm 60 hours in and thats all I know, levle 35...

It must be good if it was based off of a novel...

I thought Falout 3 story was better so that is two people so far. Do you have a link to a poll of the general consensus of all gamers thinking that?I wouldn't know who else thinks that, but I certainly haven't been impressed with any of their stories. Well, I liked how Morrowind's main story didn't even pretend to be important until fairly late into it, so I kind of liked that one.
The story for the main quests in Bethesda games arent anything special.
They do however, write great lore and backstory for the races/world/cultures in Elder Scrolls games most notably:Morrowind
They have never made a good story, that's not their main point, they make open ended worlds with a good lore to them, and release them to modders to fix their games and add aditional content.
And no, Fallout 3 has a sh*t stain of a story that is also written pretty badly, compared to New Vegas at least, which is a vastly better game all around.

lol, why did you even have to throw in the word "that"?
There is nothing spectactualr about TW2's story at all. People hate on FF12 becuse of it'sstroy be even it is deeper and more complex.
