Who is the best RPG publisher and who is the best RPG developer in your opinion?

Publisher: I think Square Enix. They have a diverse portfolio of RPGs. Love Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Nier Automata. They also publish The World Ends With You. There are also other franchises (old and new) that I loved like Vagrant Story and Xenogears. Never tried Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler. Heck, I'll even throw in Kingdom Hearts.

Developer: Square is up there, but Atlus takes the cake for me. Their Persona games are really well done and fun. I feel like I'm getting a complete experience. And although I haven't tried Shin Megami series, I'm looking forward to playing V this year. There's something about it that looks really interesting.

How about you, SW? Who is the best RPG publisher and who is the best RPG developer in your opinion?

The publisher that is going to drop Starfield next year.

Bioware became my favorite RPG publisher over the last decade or so with games like Dragon Age, so i'll say they're the best. I like the style of games they put out.

Obsidian or Larian Studios.

Having said that, replaying Divinity: OS recently, seeing a lot of shit don't like.

I count Shenmue as an RPG so YsNet is the best dev.

Square Enix for sure. Because they continue to make great ones like FF7R, Nier Automata and Dragon Quest XI.

Bethesda hasn't made a great RPG since Skyrim. Bioware since Mass Effect 3.

That would be Square-Enix for me on both counts. Their entire catalogue is vast and amazing but even if you just want to go with more recent times then my love for even just the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest stuff is enough to tip the scales in their favour for me.

Square enix. WRPG are all copy paste from one another, the best WRPG-like games are made by a Japanese company, from software, soulsborne and now elden ring shits all over Bethesda games tbh. At least jrpgs try to tell you a story and have a variety of characters. Dragon quest, ff, kh, now twewy all amazing series and games.

Square for publisher, I guess.

Best rpg dev is so much better than the rest, that i don't even need to mention the studio because everyone know who they are.
