FPS all objectively have terrible protagonists because their stories are terrible, objectively. In fact all of them are terrible as games.

See here, Barbie is the only protagonist that matters, she is smarter and cooler and way more fun than any protagonist from any FPS, and games from other genres that you like too for that matter.
