Which ubisoft open world franchise is worse of two? Far cry or Assassins creed

Far cry 2 was masterpiece.

Yes but it wasn't all good. Malaria sucked, having weapons jam only on you and nobody else sucked.

It did everything to engross you in its setting though, while Far Cry 6 on the other hand will do everything to take you out of the experience.

I still enjoyed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla while I didn't enjoy a single second of New Dawn or Far Cry 6. So I'll pick Far Cry.

Ubisoft has no franchises, only a genre, its called open world with 234982348795423789 chores on the map.

FC3 was stepback in literally every way but it was cinematic experience so it become more popular.

Yes, this can't be overstated. Every weapon in FC2 feels powerful and has the right effect, like a grenade launcher going off or a flamethrower blasting its napalm.

Far Cry 3 still does a lot of things right and the way they handled Jason (who is just a puppet for the main protagonist) is just brilliant. They kept copying Far Cry 3 after this but they never nailed this important premise. It's just a mess of game styles now. Far Cry being an RPG now is the worst thing ever and the death of the series for me.

Also you should watch Raycevick's recent video on Far Cry 3's forgotten coop mode, it's a blast (the video).

I like both series, but I suppose I like Far Cry more.

I thought Assassins Creed 1 was brilliant, I liked the whole Crusades medieval aspect. I didn’t like FC 3 and enjoy FC 4, 5, and 6. I like AC Odyssey, and Valhalla.

Far Cry 6 is a slow burn, intro island is garbage. Once the Guerillas take more of the main island, the game picked up for me. I like how it feels immersive and like you are in a revolution.

Just started a new game + on odyssey, guess it is farcry.

Far Cry, especially Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 2 continues to be the worst Far Cry game.

I liked both series at one point I burned out on Asscreed sooner though I'm glad AC is doing a reboot FC needs one. But to answer the question I liked FC more in the long run FC3 will always be the goat of the series for most of us. It was so refreshing playing it after all those malaria fetch quests and annoying respawning guard posts from FC2. FC2 was more technically impressive in some factors but that doesn't make it a better game FC3 was fun FC2 felt like a chore.

FC3 was step back. more cinematic, tag enemies and see thorugh walls, when in mission its very scripted. it was ok but its not as good as FC2.

FC2 feel immersive, realistic, Gunplay is better, no scripted or cinematic. It feel like Ubisoft version of STALKER.

Black flag was great. It surprised me.

I liked FC3 and Blood Dragon ... and even Primal a bit, and would consider playing them again. 5 felt off, and I quit on 6 about 10 minutes in.

I enjoyed AC in the past ....but playing through anything before Black Flag is a massive chore, with BF ,Unity, and Syndicate being somewhat better . Origins made me hate Ubisoft so I refused to play the any of the follow ups.

I would say Far Cry simply because only Far Cry 3 was fun and the rest was pretty much the same thing over and over. Assassin's Creed, though I've lost interest in the series after Unity, and only made worse when they went the RPG route, has more games that were fun; AC1, AC2, AC Black Flag, AC Brotherhood.

Some good far crys some average,some good AC some average.

As some of you may already remember from my previous posts, I like both franchises, so sue me, if you have to. Far Cry is clearly the better franchise. Every Far cry game is brilliant, except Primal. Many Assassin's Creed games have way too easy combat, but the challenge has fortunately improved since Origins.

Far Cry is better.

Assassin's Creed at it's absolute best, was mid. At it's norm, completely mediocre.

Production values and marketing to establish itself as "a thing" when "the thing" was always quite shit.

Assassin's Creed is in a better state today, I wouldn't even say it should be in competition for worse anything, though it is certainly no Tom Clancy's The Division, which I dare say is way better than Destiny at what they do.

Far Cry 6 was so goddamn boring I gave up a couple hours into it. Worse is FC3 Remaster never got called out for being such a lazy port, and I am not even talking graphically, this game is unplayable just on the audio issues alone. Now I loved FC4 and Primal but FC5 while still playable pointed in bad trajectory. Hell I even enjoyed New Dawn. But FC6 and FC3 Classic just killed my interest in the franchise, possibly for good. The fact they never fixed FC3 Classic with updates/patches just goes to show they will abandon their work. I mean, what's it say about them when they release a broken port of one of their most celebrated games and refuse to patch it years later? It says fucking lots. Far Cry is dead to me.

Far Cry 2 was the worst in the entire series. The OG Far Cry is the best.

i haven't played enough of either franchise's latest instalments to have a strong opinion really. played the early ones and lost hope / interest as time went on.

conceptually ac is by far the more interesting game to me. assassinating historical figures, in huge architecturally faithful-to-the-era sandboxes, decent parkour, made by dev studios involved in the early, near peerless splinter cell games so you expect some of that quality stealth dna to be evident... the combination of these things should make ac one of my favourite franchises of all time. unfortunately, as is often my experience, ubi's execution does not live up to the promise or potential, fc2 being the pinnacle.

i can see far cry holding more general appeal. ubisoft are pretty good at polishing their games, and the shooting mechanics should be reasonably mature and fun by now as we hit the umpteenth fc instalment. you likely do a lot of free roaming, driving and shooting. probably at the least fun enough games to dip into to kill a spare 20 mins here and there

AC2 had more soul than any of FC game except FC2.

Far cry is more slower and tedious. atleast in AC you climb building and perform pakour.

Far cry 1 also sucked. started good, then second half it become mess with mutant came and it become parody horror game.

Black flag was the last AC game I played, I enjoyed it but got bored of the formula so never bothered with the sequels. FC Blood Dragon is the last FC game I played I enjoyed it quite a bit and FC3 was OK but id had enough of those too so never bothered with any more. I heard Valhalla isnt too bad but CBA with AC either.

Both series are equally shit or good from what iv played. Though FC2 is a pretty big stain so ill give it to FC for being the worst.

Far cry 3 was very scripted and cinematic game and all games follow it are even worse and thus they are devoid of any fun.

@ghosts4ever: there's so many things that break immersion in fc2. too many to even list. any time you start to zone into it, the game slaps you back to reality with one of its dumbass design decisions. truly dreadful game

Game was ahead of its time. no game did what FC2 did back in days.

It was even more ambitious than Crysis which every PC gamer had hard on because "mah AAAA PEE CEE EXCLUSIVE".

this game was released in a times where almost every FPS has to be like COD.

@ghosts4ever: My freind, gonna be extremely edgy here and claim Kingping was the one ahead of it's time that doesn't get its dues.

1. FPS with role-playing elements without straight up using stats or upgrade paths and shit

2. Can recruit (hire) friends

3. Multiple "hub" areas with shops and side missions

4. Has "quality" weapons that are upgradable

5. Enemies drop resources (cash) that can be used in shops

More importantly, it's better game than Far Cry 2, actually fun to play.

I'm not really a fan of either anymore (or the Ubi open world formula)... but if I had choose one I'd prefer to play now it'd probably be Far Cry.

I prefer Far Cry as a series.

I liked the first three games for both Far Cry and Assassins Creed and I also hated all games after for both.

I haven't played Farcry since 2 and only played AC 1 and Black Flag so I'm not the best judge as I enjoyed them all. I did find AC to be too repetitive for me. Farcry hasn't looked good since 2 imo. I hope the next games in the series are really good, but I don't currently have any interest in either series.

Doom is the worst one.

I give it to Ass Creed. In Far Cry I just turn my brain off and enjoy mindless fun but in Ass Creed there a lot of rpg mechanics that I can't give a shit about.

Far Cry has gotten much worse, with the last release being just terrible. New Dawn was kind of a joke, and while FC5 was fun, it was a pretty weak installment imo.

Assassin's Creed has experienced a resurrection of sorts, with Origin, Odyssey, and Valhalla all being arguably some of the better releases in the series.
