Which PC games deserved 10 on gamespot easily?

We have seen consoles games as Legend of Zelda OOT, Chrono Cross, GTA IV (Overrated, San Andreas 10 X better), MGS 4 ( Overrated, MGS 3 10 X better), Super Mario Galaxy 2 , Bayonetta 2's getting 10 on gamespot.

In my opinion Half Life and Half Life 2, best Half Life Anthology and The Orange Box amongst recent times (For being revolutionary and best FPS games of its time) PC versions should've got perfect 10 on gamespot, but didn't :(

According to GS, none. Me? The original Counter Strike and UT2004.

It's tricky. PC games that I consider "10" games often only get that way after patches, mods, expansions and/or DLC. The initial game might not be worthy of a 10, but get there eventually. I'd put Civ 4 in that category.

Cross getting a 10 is the biggest lol of them all, and while GTA 4 is pretty good, 10 is also lol.

I guess Half Life, Unreal Tournament 2k4, Counter Strike, Deus Ex, and maybe System Shock 2 and Age of Empires 2

FF X and XII never released on PC =P ( PS 2 exclusives, except X remastered into HD lately on PS 3) Heh.

The closest game to a 10 I believe should have been Shadows of Amn, which got a 9.2 here. It was packed with content (and not filler either!), had huge enemy and tactic diversity, a giant spell list, and a great balance between story and freedom/exploration (at least until chapter 6). I think I've played that game at least 2 dozen times since buying, truly one of the greatest RPGs.

World of Warcraft, Half Life 2, Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty, No One Lives Forever, Deus Ex, Thief: The Dark Project etc. Gamespot said, they give 10 to those games that standout from rest of the games in the same genre. Pretty sure, no MMO ever touched World of Warcraft since its release.It is also the most successful game of all time.

Then there is Half Life 2, which changed the entire landscape of FPS games and in a lot of ways, of PC Gaming as well. I don't think Bayonetta 2 is more revolutionary than these games (not bashing Bayo 2 because it's really good game. Just saying that if Bayo 2 got a 10, then why not these games?). PC game will never get 10 on gamespot.

Don't think any recent games can be even qualified for a 10. The one game that I do want to give 10 would be Half-Life. I don't think any game will deserve 10 because 10 means the best you can do in a game and on PC you can always do better.

Suppose RE4 and Ninja Gaiden Black come close, and I guess Super Mario Galaxy 2 deserved it, but that's about it.

No way in hell did Half Life 2 deserve it though. You can't be a FPS with poor gunplay and inconsistent pacing and expect a 10.

No game deserves a 10, the 10's on gamespot are great scores with an extra sprinkling of fanboy ontop.

Gta 4 getting a 10? Easily the worst of all gta's

Warcraft 3, System Shock 2 and Hotline Miami (before it got ported).

Starcraft 2 IMO deserves it, it has a terrific campaign and it was an amazing multiplayer experience, the complain that it only has the Terran campaign was pure bullcrap and a lame excuse to not give it a 10.

Scores are really meaningless. Bayonetta 2 just scored a 10 in the opinion on a single person here but Mario Kart 8 took WiiU's GotY.

What is more important is the impact the game has and the legacy it leave. Scores are only relevant to the person who gave the score. Other than that they are mostly useless.

What I think is one of the best games games of all time is not what somebody else thinks. If I worked for Gamespot and gave it that score that doesn't necessarily give that score any authority since it's still my opinion. The collective opinions about a game far outweigh that of the opinion of a single person.

Tie Fighter. I remember IGN one time listing it as the second greatest PC game of all time. Yeah, it's so good that even IGN recognized.

PC gaming peaked and died in the 90's. It has been garbage since then. I don't know why people still bother with PC gaming. I have not seen any advances in 15+ years.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Half Life 2, Portal 2, Total War: Rome, Crysis, UT2003/2004 are all great games but even great games almost always have some annoyances or things that you feel could have been done better. Therefore I'm not sure I'd give any game a perfect 10.

None. It takes several patches and community efforts to make most PC games qualify.

There's been even less advances in console gaming, yet you don't seem to have an issue with that. Most new major genres and graphical advancements are still birthed from PC or PC hardware.

Also, PC gaming died so hard that it has more high scoring games at Metacritic and this site every year...

Dota 2 and CS 1.6 I guess.

I think games that "deserved 10 on gamespot easily" would be the likes of Half Life and WoW. They didn't just set a new standard for games to follow, nor are they simply well-remembered, but they are both hugely influential on such a vast majority of games still being released today.

I think an argument could easily be made for games like Counter Strike, Dota, Sim City, The Sims, Command and Conquer, and the like, but they aren't 10s like the first two games mentioned.

With that said, a lot of Gamespot's 10s shouldn't be 10s. Some of them seem like they were given in such a moment of hype or some sort of mental hazing that subsided soon after release.

World in Conflict is, for me, the best game of the last generation, and an easy 10/10.

Excellent WW3 story that felt detailed and authentic. And it did it before CoD started making a shit show of it all.

Unique and great control system, and brilliant RTS/RTT gameplay.

Amazing graphics and great art with fully destructible terrain.

Excellent soundtrack.

Clean and well optimized launch.

Intense and incredibly fun 8v8 multiplayer.

I freaking love it so much you don't even know.

Thanks mate! But it's somewhat true that no matter what developers do in a game there are always better things that we can come up with. Look at Skyrim mods etc ... it's endless.
