Which one is a proper simulation? (Race sim)

For those who drive fast, and tried various games, which one is the simulation? Because they are different.

Project Cars has not the same physic at all compare to the most popular race sim such as Forza.

My guess is, Assetto Corsa, that not so good game, is the best simulation. This is an opinion of a very fast cyber driver that did not ever try real racing beside karting and have nobody in the real race world to give input about the subject.

GT and Forza are simcades, not real simulators. For real simulators go to PC.

GTR2

pretty sweet racing sim, it's a bit dated at this point, but it is still good.

My favorite part about these threads is when someone starts saying how one crashes more realistically at 200 mph than the other one as if they've experienced it themselves to know.

iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor, PCARS are all very good sims.

Id have to say GTR2 or RFactor on PC.

Console sims cant hold a candle to PC sims because of the CPU power required to process all of the simulation and physics to get the right feel of actual racing.

Consoles have to make sacrifices. Forza is good because they take into account the tire physics wear and tear, and also the different parts you have on your car, but it still is limited by the console its on.

GT doesnt have any of this simulation, even in GT Sport.

No console will ever have a proper sim.

My favourite simulation is outrun 2. It pretty much mirrored my journey from the golden sands of California to the tulip fields of Holland via Ferrari without hitting any ocean, in around 10 minutes. That was a wild ride.

F1 and Assetto Corsa are sims. Others like Project Cars can be simulators depending on how you decide to play them.

Forza (my preference) and Gran Turismo are arcade games.

I was going to say OutRun 2 SP SDX, the arcade version where you drive in a simulator cabinet that simulates the controls, motion, thrill and sensation of a Ferrari. Sure, it's an arcade racer without the realistic physics and all, but the OutRun 2 SP SDX arcade cabinet simulates the feel of high-speed driving.
