For me its God of War (PS 4).Absolutely stunning.
Well?
RDR2. Still boot it up to roam around in the world. First person, especially, is good to see all the detail and work that went into that game. Beautiful.
Days Gone looks stunning and is a showcase for UE4.0
The swarm tech, the dynamic weather, ... All of it looks gorgeous
With all the latest updates, it really looks great specially during rains in the forest.
I know I'll get stick for this....but...Sea of thieves is gorgeous. Artwork, water, sunsets are all aesthetically second to none.
Rdr2 for attention to detail and world size, and GoW looks as good as any.

People that give you shit for that are stupid. Sea of Thieves is objectively beautiful.
2D - Cuphead
2.5D - Dragon Ball FighterZ
3D - Final Fantasy VII Remake
HUD - Persona 5
Hell no, not FF7. They put all the power available of the ps4 into the character faces and there was nothing left for textures.
There a lot of great looking games.
If I have to pick just one, Red Dead Redemption 2.

yes im playing this game now and love it even though it killed my pro's hdd i had to replay it on my original ps4. not happy about it but im having more fun playing it in my second play through. im killer hordes at level 9 this time around. this game should of scored higher for fun factor alone.

yes we are in a period of time that even low budget games look good. im not saying any ones on that list are low budget i mean in general. there is no graphic king really just the art of each game that these developer create. take sea of thieves the game was not highly reviewed but the water looks better than god of war. but there are parts in god of war game that are artistically look better than most games because of the art style of the game. instead of graphics that system wars praise why can't we talk about art of these developers create. but then again if we did that system wars would be boring lol.

The graphical quality is highly uneven. At its worst, some town areas have PS2-quality textures. But at its best, like in most of the story scenes and mission areas, it has some of the best graphics ever seen on consoles, rivaling CGI movie quality at times. The former parts don't detract from the latter parts.
As for the textures, FF7R's file size is almost 100 GB. A programmer at ResetEra checked out the texture files, and found that they're very high-quality. But in the game, some town areas don't load the HD textures, but instead load the low-quality LOD textures at first, before a delay in loading the HD textures. And in some instances, the HD textures don't load at all. The game clearly has texture bugs. Maybe an update could fix those bugs eventually. But if not, we might have to wait until the PC version to get fixed by mods.
The Last of Us 2 and Ghosts of Tsushima are probably going to break into the top 5. Gears 5 and Plague Tale both in top 10 somewhere.
@gifford38: I want to play it a second time but I really need a pc version/better performance.
yeah im waiting for ps5 version to play it again. only reason im playing the second play through is because i didnt get to finish it the first time around. i was on the last level before my hdd went so i lost all of my saved games. even my 100% spiderman file.

To be fair, there was not much to do with the water in God of War, while Sea of Thieves, the water is the a core element to the game's experience. So, God of War water looks great for its application.
Lot of people saying FFVII:R... And it has phenomenal character models and some areas like the first rector looks spectacular... The rest of the game looks pretty garbage lol. PS2 textures every and PS1 backdrops....
Which is a shame since at its best it's arguably up there with the best looking console games like GOW, RDR2, Death Stranding...
RDR2 is definitely a finely tuned technical achievement and probably my favorite in terms of art design as well.

Question. I've had such a hard time playing that game due to the motion of the background blurring to the point I can't actually tell what's going on. Is this just something that I have to get used to? I'm wondering if this is my TV settings or something. Have you encountered what I'm talking about?
@IMAHAPYHIPPO: Probably standard motion blur. This game doesn't allow you to turn that shit off, unfortunately. On Xbox One X?

Ah yes, that's true. Sea of Thieves is probably my pick as well.
