Which Console Will You Buy Next Gen?

Do you plan on buying the Xbox Series X or PS5 when they launch? Or which one will you buy first if you plan on getting both?

As much as I love Xbox and do prefer the ergonomics of their controllers I think I will go back to Sony for PS5, mostly for their exclusives. Either way I am excited for more news on the specs of these systems and how they have upgraded.

Ill get a PS5 and probably a new switch if they come out with one.

I plan on buying both an Xbox Series X and PS5 as well as whatever new system Nintendo comes out with next. I’ll get the Xbox Series X at launch and the PS5 some time later on.

Never mind that. I'll be getting PS5 in 3 years after launch once the system itself has gotten more mature over time and having more exclusives as time goes by, my gaming PC & Nintendo Switch will pave the way for a very long time and as well my PS4.

PS5 purchase in 2023 at the earliest :)

I'll be getting an XSX at some point... not sure about at launch yet.

Preferably none if Sony were to bring all their first party to PC like MS. However, Sony hasn't officially announced their plans for PC. I think it will be very selective just like which titles make it on to PSNOW. So, I will most likely buy a PS5 for exclusives not on PC.

I'll grab whatever Nintendo comes with next and a PS5 whenever they release some stuff I'm interested in.

I won't get any at launch probably a year in I'll get a ps5 then the x-series down the line.

PS5 for now, unless Sony starts doing PC ports.

It's absolutely pointless for me to get an Xbox. I may pick up a PS5, but if they are, in fact, bringing some of their exclusives to PC, then I may not.

I will get a PS5. Main reason is Bloodborne 2 (plis) and Persona.

PS5 and Ninty's next release. My PC covers the Xbox, so other than that, i'll be good.

@ratchetclank92: I won't know for sure until we get more info this E3. But based on what we know now? Probably the Xbox SX. That power, GamePass, Halo Infinite, Hellblade 2, and the dozen new studios MS has under their belt interests me.

Xsx if any. The only reason to get a ps5 is the exclusives, and most of them just dont appeal to me.

Microsoft confirmed they won’t have any games for 3+ years on XSX. They confirmed you can play their exclusives on Xbox One S which defeats the purpose of upgrading.

So I don’t understand why lemmings would spend $600 to play Halo Infinite or whatever in slightly higher resolution when they can just play it on an old console. Same with Gears 5/6 etc.

LOL Nintendo. They don’t make consoles anymore and switch is a handheld.

Next-gen consoles have very little appeal.

PS5. Can't see anything on Xbox that be worth getting especially when they won't have exclusives. I have my PC for everything else I may want to play that isn't on PS5.

I skipped Pro so I'll be getting a PS5 sooner rather than later. As per usual, I'll be skipping Xbox.

As for when I buy PS5... it depends on the price and the games at launch. That said, I'm expecting $500 and am already saving for it.

PC is definitely getting priority and I'll only get the PS5 years down the line. Because I will wait for a slim version and more exclusives to be available.

I want a ps5 because i already have a rig which makes the Xbone2.0 irrelevant. But if its underpowered, and all about its SSD as the selling point, i'm skipping it.

To start, 2 PS5’s and 1 Xbox Series X. Once the Series X is a necessity, I will get 2 more.

if you made up your mind already, you're just a blind fanboy. We don't know any launch titles, we don't know any specs or any prices. There is no way you can make an objective decission already.

I'll probbaly end up buying everything, at least if it has a few promissing exclusives. I might skip the new xBox if it's true that everything comes to PC.

I’m good with my pc and switch for now. Will probably buy a ps5 slim when that time comes depending on how good it is and if it has enough cool games I can’t get on pc. Definitely not buying at launch.

I'll get a launch day PS5, and XSX is still up in the air... I mean, I know I'll get one, but the question is will I get it day one or wait? The one announcement that would make me spring for it day one is if they have PC integration (which I suspect) so more games can be played that were formerly only available on PC. That isn't the only reason I would get one at launch, but if not for that it's going to take some big announcements because the whole no console exclusives for the first couple years thing has thrown me off and before that I was pretty set on getting one day one.

Nintendo's rumored next console (pro version) releasing in what sounds like now is likely 2021 I'll probably get near launch as well. That way I can give the Switch I already own to my kids.

Probably both. Not sure when, games available will decide that maybe.

But not gonna lie, if the marketing hype train gets me and I like what I see I am just as likely to buy both at launch. I like new things.

Xbox Series X. Way too many features not available on other platforms. Most powerful, Game anywhere, complete backwards compatibility, ect.

PS5 will be purchased in holiday 2021 or 2022 when it’s on sale.
