PS1/2 sold amazing because of piracy. If the PS4 is as easy to chip as them then I feel it will sell the same.
piracy is very small part. PS3 had no piracy at all, only now it began, yet games are 30GB and people own no blu-ray burner or disc. Playstation 4 - New patent uses load times to determine whether software is being pirated. http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-patent-fights-playstation-piracy-with-load-times-6404399 So, no pirated games, this means PS4 will flop?PS1/2 sold amazing because of piracy. Everyone knows it will be the PS4. It will start winning by a lot day 1, and even more once X1 starts to have no exclusives.
Wii U - 45 million, really? It sold 1 year - 3 million and sale slowing down even more when PS4 and Xbone is released.PS4 - 101 million
Xbone - 76.4 million
Wii U - 45 million
ImBatman-
What you think, how many consoles will Wii U, Xbox One and Playstation 4 will sell lifetime(10 years) I think Wii U will sell total 15 million Xbox One about 50 million Playstation 4 about 120 million Make your bet, and tell us why. PS1 sold that much because it was best gaming system. PS2 sold that much because it was best gaming system. Wii sold that much because it was so cheap and something new to gaming, while Xbox 360 came out first and also cheap price. Playstation 3 came out in Europe 2007 and price was 600 euros while Xbox 360 was 399 euros. If PS3 and X360 came out at same time, well then i think PS3 would sold 90 million and X360 70 million. Wii U is fail. Too high price, too weak, and nothing new. Also, its not called Wii 2, but Wii U. No games(even if some exclusive comes, no 3rd party support). Nintendo lost this gen no matter what they do. Xbox One failed at E3, but lately they showed some great stuff. Kinect 2 will make Xbox One sell a lot but price is higher than PS4 which mean it sell sell. PS4 more powerful, more exclusive games, will have better exclusive games(every gen...), cheaper price. What you think? Tell me what you think. No flame and spamming. Respect everyone!!!FreedomFreeLife

LOL!!!!
Did every cow have a lobotomy to celebrate E3 or something? I have bad news for you: The XB1 has as good of a chance of outselling the PS4 as the PS4 has of outselling the XB1. Sorry, buddy.
Your question is the most impossible question to answer. How about which console will sell the most after this next gen(PS4 XboxOne Wii U)? Huh? Answer that and maybe I'll make wild guesses to what the industry will hold in the future, knowing ALL WELL that I have no part in the gaming industry and quite frankly am just a Gamespot user who sits behind a computer screen and has opinions. Just stop.

Worldwide > USA and UKActually, that is not true. If you look at sales by territory, the US+UK is far bigger than "the rest of the world" in terms of sales dollars, sorry.
The PS3 caught up to the 360 because it has a 9:1 sales advantage in Japan. In every other market, where "normal" sales ratios exist, the 360 is either competitive, or winning.;)
The Wii U is on track for sub-20M over the next four years at this rate, things are really, really dire there for them and nobody should minimize that. Right now Nintendo is just in a race against time to boost sales drastically before third-parties pull support entirely.
The PS4 and XBONE competition is more of an open question, but if early indications tell us anything the XBONE is in trouble. Trailing considerably in pre-orders in both the US and UK is very, very bad news for Microsoft even if things have improved some since the DRM about face.
The 360 has trailed the PS3 and not by a small amount (PS3 has had more WW sales every year) everywhere except for the US and UK and that is despite everything the PS3 had going against it-especially in the early years. If they can't hold onto a lead in the US especially they're not going to match, much less have any chance of overtaking the PS4 in sales: profits might be a different.
Sony is in the middle of a big, big turnaround from where they were just a year ago and not only in games, as their brand grows stronger again it benefits every other part of the company including the PS4 so things could get out of hand for Microsoft if they don't beat Sony to the punch with several system-sellers relatively early on this gen.

Little tip PS3 is estimated to have cost 5-6 billion in losses.

It makes perfect sense, because it is true.
Is the PS3 *currently* outselling the 360 in the US? No. The UK? No. It is outselling it in the rest of EU, Japan, and "other territories". However, sales wise, the PS3 & 360 are cometitive with eachother everywhere except Japan, where the PS3 has a 9:1 sales advantage. If Japan sales were not so far out of whack as the other territories, the PS3 would be several million units behind the 360. Even a 3:1 advantage in Japan for the PS3 would equate to a world-wide 360 sales advantage.
So, my initial comment is true: the PS3 is ahead of the 360 because of Japan.
No idea. Everyone thought the PS3 would dominate last year and we saw how that turned out. lol!! No one can predict the future. Give it a year and then ask this question again. I do feel that within the first 6 months the PS4 and XBox One will race ahead of the Wii U. What happens after that is anyone's guess. blackace
Agreed. We will not have a good picture until Christmas 2014.
PS3 numbers are inflated. Sony added PS2 sales to the mix.
Â
I don't know hoe much it ACTUALLY is, but it sure as hell isn't 70.8 million.
PS4: 125 Million Wii U: 90 Million X1: 75 Million This is how it's going to go down!genfactor
The Wii U would need to sell on pace with the Wii in its first 3 years for the next 4 for that to happen = not gonna happen. Right now the Wii U is lucky if it hits Xbox numbers. The others don't seem outside the realm of possibilities though.
I just don't care,lol
I'll enjoy my PS4,as long as it sells enough to stay alive and supported by Sony/3rd parties then I'll be happy.
If M$ and Nintendo sell a bazillion more then good for them, lol
