I've been playing Shin Megami V and the battle system along with collecting demons is pretty addicting! Like a darker, more sophisticated version of Pokemon. You always want to get the next one and power up your team. Also, the amount of depth when it comes to strategizing and assembly your team is creative and fun.

How about you, SW? What's the most addicting game you played recently?

Nobody Saves the World, levelling up all the different forms of your character is pretty addictive.

Shin Megami Tensei V for me currently. Played the game all this past weekend. I think I’m in the last big area now. I always want to keep seeing what new demons I can get and transform them into. Really enjoy strategizing and tooling my main character and party for the different boss fights. The music is quite good and some pretty rocking tracks especially the battle music in the Castle area. My one complaint of the game is that it can be incredibly frustrating trying to figure out exactly how to get to certain areas in some maps even when you’ve already been there before. Still having a great time with the game.

yes, im with you on SMTV. Actually I had to put aside all my other games because I decided to beat this game first. Where are you at? I'm fighting lahmu, got past the first version, but then the 2nd version popped up and kicked my ass. So now im scheming on ways to beat him.

Probably Aliens Fireteam Elite, though I have grinded out all I cared to in the game, it's fun to play an hour or two here and there. And I don't have time or energy to start anything new at the moment... but I should.

KOF XV ... i put so many hours in the beta alone ... can't wait for the release date.

As for full releases, Jurassic Park Evolution was kind of addictive to the point i felt it was a bit short, but i actually put several hours on it.

Offline I'd say Valhalla and online I'd say Battlefield 1.

AC Valhalla is far from perfect, it doesn't excel in anything it does, but it makes up for it by having a lot to do. Overall I like the exploration and just acting like a Viking and raiding places with my Viking ship.

Battlefield 1 holds up so well as a Battlefield game. The maps are fantastic and I love assaulting objectives with my team, it's such a thrill to rush to the next objective as a joint effort. It makes every class matter and it makes each individual action matter too.

Its been A while since a game really grabbed me hard. I'm in my cynical phase of playing a game and already feeling like I know how the game will play out and having the mental battle of whether I can do "another one of those games..." nothing surprises me anymore. It's just a question of "do I want to sit through another one"

To that end, I look for gameplay that feels unique or at least not tired.... Dragons Dogma definitely had me hooked for a while and was my last game to do that.

MP Halo Infinite is like an every other day game as of now, I got a couple buddies I run matches with weekly. I always find myself saying "1 more match" .

SP wise ME trilogy, finished 1 and started 2. It's been nice playing this updated version of the games. I start playing and before I know it 3-4 hours has flown by. I thought they were decent games back in the day but I have more appreciation for them today, don't know why just do.

Mario maker 2 is another one, game is never ending. Anyone in to 2D platformers it's the most content you can get for one. The fans don't ever stop, so there a never ending flow of levels.

FF MMO was another one, I got really sucked into it up untill about lvl 70 but kind of just stopped, but I was hooked on that for a hot minute

I guess Fallout 4, I've been downloading a ton of mods for it recently and that's been pretty fun.

I bought Dying Light on a major steam discount and have been hooked ever since. Mirrors Edge with zombies is an apt descriptor and I love how easily you can be killed if you get too cocky and how quickly you can bounce around on rooftops when you get the hang of the parkour.

Looking forward to the sequel, hope they get it right.

Not exactly what you mean I know, but Black Desert Online feels kind of like an addiction. There's so many facets to explore and level up beyond just combat. Gotta go put a few hours in to rank up my fishing life skill, hire more workers for the farm, and put all this crap in my inventory up for auction on the central market. But after a while I realize I'm not actually having any fun, it's more a compultion that is driving me. So I sign out and play Killer Instinct.

Oh wait, wrong question. Er... Mass Effect - really good time, despite some clearly dated elements and limited squad control

Probably Risen.

It's a game that swings from "**** this shit uninstalling it" to "this is great" at a moments notice.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. I love to trade with people and collect the various Pokemon. I beat the Elite Four, but I still have a lot to keep me busy.

Satisfactory. Building factories on alien worlds is so rewarding, and the tier unlocks/research is doled out at a good pace you always feel like you're making progress.

Recently I am finding myself not enjoying a lot of games I am playing for one reason or another:

* The game is too big and needs many hours to beat so I cannot get hooked

* The game is boring and the gameplay loop is not fun

* The game is badly designed and I am not having fun while playing it

The only genre that does not disappoint me is Metrovania .. I played really addicting and good games recently like Axiom Verge 2, Metroid Dread, Blasphemous, Ori 2, AM2R, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, etc .. and really I like these type of games so much they are really fun to play ..

Also, beat-em ups like SOR4 are very fun and addicting ..

Basically I find myself enjoying indie games more than the so called AA/AAA games recently 😁

Maybe it's time you retire from gaming. This is no country for old men.

demon's souls. ive now got what i think is a near perfect strategy for playing through without any waste, any need to farm souls, and to unlock just about every secret area / npc. every single area i tackle and when is planned with military precision lol. been very addictive figuring it all out. love that game
