Whatever happened to snowboarding games?

These used to be terrific games back in the day. Why aren't companies making these types of games now? Tony Hawk was awesome too. Your thoughts, SW? Would you welcome another snowboarding game?

They don't make the sales they used too. Simple as that.

Probably about the same thing as skateboarding games. people got tired of it

Oh and There was an SSX 2012.

SSX seemed like a revitalization but oh well.

SSX Tricky is the GOAT.

Well, there's a game called Snow on early access. It only has skiing atm, but snowboarding is coming later.

only snowboarding game I played though was Amped for the original Xbox, and it was pretty cool

I was actually into snowboarding then skateboarding games. I also use to enjoy playing 1080, SSX, and the Cool Boarders series. But sadly this genre pretty much died off as with skateboarding games.

Not sure what your pathetic remark towards skateboarding games is supposed to mean. There are way more skateboarding games than snowboarding games and they're still very popular.

well, if it's a good game, it's a good game independent of the genre imho. and some of those games were really excellent.

We deserve and demand an actual sequel to SSX Tricky.

This. Too bad that nowadays most people want an easy and pathetic game to play instead of one that takes some skill and has a learning curve. Maybe they should try those games on PC since there seems to be an interested for skill based games.

I quit playing them because the abominable snowman would always come and eat me before I could ever get down the hill. Too much frustration.

They got played out.

They felt too samey after awhile. Devs were pumping them out with minor changes and people got bored.

Guess they weren't selling much... I'm pretty sure that happened with the Wave Race games too and those were fun games.

I don't know and it saddens me that nothing snowboarding is being made. SSX 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. We need more wacky sports games, not those boring realistic ones..

The most recent SSX happened and it sucked. Fucking instant death drops, the person who added that shit into SSX is a personification of chlamydia.

I want a new SSX, minus the suck this time, double time on the fun.
