What was the first console you purchased this gen?

What console was the first you purchased this generation, or did you skip console gaming completely? And what system takes up the majority of your gaming time?

For me, I first purchased the Wii on launch day. In 2006 my PC could barely run Half Life 2, but now the majority of my gaming time is on the PC. How about you guys?

PS3... I almost bought a 360 2 years ago, but RRoD put me off.

360 but I still had a ps2 and played it heavily.

Was given a 360 first. Got a PS3 near launch and a Wii the following Spring.

Hard to say what machine occupies the majority of my time, because it shifts often. Currently my PS2 gets more playtime than anything else.

the wii about 4 months after launch. later that summer got the 60 gig ps3 the day after it went to 499. i didnt buy a 360 till the 20 gig were 199

The Wii at launch, then a 360 a year later, and a PS3 a year after that. I play the PS3 the most, Wii the second most, and 360 the least.

Pug-Nasty

Considering I got my Xbox 360 free courtesty of Mountain Dew, the first console I bought was a Wii. It also was the first and only console of this generation I sold. Occasionally I regret it when I see decent games on the horizon, but then I remember all the shovelware and overall mediocrity of the games (now in stunning 480p!!!), and I feel better :)

Got a Wii in 2007 and then a PS3 later that year and then a 360 this year.

360 - May 27th 2006 (had to get one after Oblivion and GRAW came out!)

Wii - November 19th 2006 (yeah, I camped out!)

PS3 - Mid December 2006 (it's the Trey!)

Well in 2007, I was mainly gaming on handhelds (DS and PSP respectively). Jump to the summer of 2007 and I see a Nintendo Wii in stock at my local Walmart, so I quickly purchase it since at the time they weren't so readily available. For Christmas that year, I got a PS3. And then jump to this year, I finally purchased a 360 around late April/early May.

360, which (consequently) I've spent the most time playing. Probably only slightly though, since I do play the PS3 quite a bit.

I got DS,PSP,360,Wii, PS3 in that order.

360 in 2007

360 first followed by PS3 and wii.lbjkurono23

It was the PS3 for me...this gen i got my systems in this order :)

I had a DS in its first year but if its just consoles I had a Wii launch day, that was an expensive day :x.

xbox 360 at the end of 2006 and i spend most of my time on that followed by my PC

Built a gaming PC in December of 2005 and a DS light at launch of 2006, but since the thread says console....

Wii at launch day

360 in July of 2006 because my XBOX bit the dust and I had an in store warranty, no XBOX's available anymore they upgraded me to a 360

Sorry to disappoint you, my level of level-headedness changes depending on how tired I am at the time.

2nd another 360 (couldn't resist buying the 360 from my previousemployer for that price, €50.- was too cheap to pass up)

i bought my 360 in early '07, i bought my ps3 and wii earlier this year.

Wii. Then PS3.

I really never got too much into the Wii, still just use it occasionally for Sports Resort and Tiger Woods and for the OCCASIONAL Nintendo title. But I've probably bought 10 PS3 games for every 1 that I go out and buy for Wii.

I haven't got a 360 yet and I'm not sure I will because I want to get a PC that can handle games (tired of laptop with integrated graphics). Might get a 360 if it's $99 but that's about as much as I'd spend. Most likely I'd be better served taking even that $99 and just buying a slightly better component for this theoretical PC build.
