What needs to happen for you to be satisfied this gen?

What games need to come out in order for you, to be like "Ok, this gen has satisfied me in terms of it's games on offer"?

For me:

A really good Gears of War 2

A next project from Bungie that is completely awesome

A sequel to Jet Set Radio Future

"The Incredible Machine" on XBLA as announced way back but not heard of since.

C'mon it's the utimate satisfaction. Sony and Microsft give up the gaming industry and we're left only having to save up for one console next gen.

Freedom Fighters 2, Psychonauts 2 (confirmed to come out :D ), a WWII MMORPG, a warship simulator (enough planes), and a decent train simulator (hasn't been a goodone since Microsoft's...)

Lol I like American games but hate it when they make themselves look the best ofthe best like in World In Conflict, Freedom Fighters and every single WW2 game (Notice how they don't start untill 1944?) many examples just can't think of them. Even made up 'factions' are American e.g. GDF Quake Wars, GDI Command and Conquerand UNSC Halo etc.martin_f

I'm not going to go into a plitical discussion but there are many that contend that the US was the best-of-the-best in WWII.

Besides, they're american made games with an american spin. What do you expect?

1 Superbly detailed and depthed game that will last me ages, I dont see it being GTA4 ... looks like they are dumbing it down to make it all faster >>.

More Construction sims, possible mixed genres.

Kinda Like Dark Cloud 1/2 an RPG and building simulator in one, pretty nice, we need more games that HEAVILY mix genres ... and ffs leave FPs out of the loop for once... getting absolutely sick of them.

First of all, a killer God of War 3 will make me very happy. I am also hoping that Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed live up to their hype and that we will have more games that follow suit and have extensive single player experiences that measure up to the quality that these 2 games are looking to have. I also want to see Killzone 2 and MGS4 deliver on all fronts, as well as Too Human and Fable 2.

If things fall into place like I outlined above, then I will be greatly satisfied indeed. We shall see.

A new Zelda game (using the wii's hardware)

For me to be satisfied... hmm...

Its possible I'd be satisfied and happy with the current games coming out this gen, but I could think of things to make it better.

1. A new Zelda game which actually changes up the story and does things a differently

2. Final Fantasy turning things around and starting to have better games (FFX and FFXII were decent, but could have been better)

3. At least one really great Strategy RPG game.

4. I'd love a RPG that uses a lot of sprites, like the old SNES ones, just for kicks.

5. Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed being any amazing as the hype keeps saying they will be.

Probably could think of more, but I think that's a decent list.

a shenmue 3 might be interesting
