Well there's your problem, other than FF3 and Castlevania, your taste in games is kind of teh suck...

a) ds lite... compact, sleek, durable, great battery life, great brightness

b) games designed with portability in mind

c) japanese support (dq, ninja gaiden)

d) less volume of ports, meaning games can really stand as a solid portable title on it's own rather than a watered down console game

oh and the finest sonic platformer in a long time with a sequel coming up, not to mention his own bioware rpg...

oh im sorry... all of my responses involved either the hardware being better for portability in mind, or just the solid selection of portable exclusives ... everything pretty much gaming related... guess that's not good enough for handhelds these days

Then sell your DS and games for it for money or credit, and get more stuff for your other systems.

If you don't like the handheld, just stop.

So many things, in no particular order

• Decent battery life
• Great minimalist design reminiscent of the ipod
• New way to control games on handheld(stylus)
• built in microphonefor voice chat/speech recognition
• Two screens for Maps, menus or two screen game (subarikishi/hotel dusk/contra 4 etc)
• Bespoke exclusives built for handheld play
• No load times
• Reasonable price
• Plenty of old school games (catlevania, ninja gaiden, contra etc)
• plenty of nintendo games (Zelda, mario etc)
• Mature oriented non-games (brain age 2, jam sessions)
• superior exclusive puzzle games (ppl, tetris, picross, meteos etc)
• Many PC centric genres (Adventure games, strategy games)
• Excellent RPG lineup (etrian odyssey, FF3, ffcc, pokemon, dq9, ash, sonic rpg etc)
• Superior first party support
• Superior third party support

If you cant see whats so awesome about the DS you're not much of a gamer. Best handheld ever made by far

it plays GBA games so it surpasses the GBA by default. But in terms of the individual library the DS has long since pwned the GBA

To be fair you still havent bought alot od the DS's best games. Get those before you buy any thing else

so there are lots of good DS games you have not played, plus upcoming games you must have, yet you come here asking why the DS is specail?! THE DS IS AWESOME MAN. Go Play Dawn of Sorrow if thats the Castlevania game you have, and if you have PoR, go get Dawn of Sorrow. And go get New Super Mario and Mario Kart DS right now my good man.
