What is the greatest game of all time?

I really wanted to find out more current opinions, since looking at old polls and topic discussions on GameSpot made me realize Ocarina of Time may not be number one anymore. Still, my vote goes for OoT.

For me, It would have to be Final Fantasy X or GTA: San Andreas, I spent hours and hours on both those gamesmetalguitar13

I really want to try the FF series, but I'm a bit preoccupied with A Link to the Past. It's so much fun.

It's taken a while, but I've finally played every highly acclaimed video game series there is. IMO, the best game of all time is Pokemon Red. Of course a lot of these games I've played long after they were released. OOT for example has great gameplay, but can be a bit confusing in the overworld. The gameplay in that game though still holds up to this day.

im close to playing every high rated game series too. but my vote will have to go to OOT the game still holds a candle to hd games today and thats incredible.

even though its on a hiatus KH is one of my fav series in the action RPG genre, while SMG2 is the epitome of platforming

I agree, TC and others should rephrase it to "what's your favorite game that you have played?", or change "best" to "favorite" so it sounds more opinionated.

Sonic the hedgehog 2 or FFVII

toss up between Demon's Souls and MGS2.

Basing this solely on games that I have played throughout my gaming years I would have to go with Skies of Arcadia. Really great game with addicting gameplay along with an awesome soundtrack to go along with it.

That's pretty tough, see as how I've played many amazing games.

But to be different, I'll say that Super Castlevania IV is pretty ****ing amazing.

No one has played every game in the world, and even if someone did, their opinion would be highly subjective. So, there is no greatest game of all time.

I have two answers.

Megaman for all the years I have put into those games. And I can still pick it up today and play it without getting bored.

And Kingdom Hearts for doing everything right and incorporating everything they had established into a fantastic franchise that could still hold a lot of life into it.

Its a close call between FFVII (PC/PSX) or Everquest 1 (PC) for me.

I noticed someone listed FFIX, I thaught that was one of the worst FF games I have played. IMO the best of the series are FFII, FFIV, FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII. They seem to keep going downhill after VIII. I wish SE would remake FFVII.

It's clearly Super Mario Bros. 3.
