What is the funniest game ever?

I'm gonna go with Super Paper Mario for the Wii. I think the creators were possibly high when they made this game, but I got so many laughs from it. It's like a PG version of Aqua Teen Hunger Force with super bizarre humor. But then it also has some really smart satire too. The part where they make fun of nerds is so funny.

What's your choice?

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story had me in splits.

Southpark: The Stick of Truth was pretty funny.

Oh, Kid Icarus Uprising is great at this too.

Batman Forever. It's terrible, but in a hilarious way, which is why it's awesome to play with someone else. NBA Jame T.E and Two Crude Dudes are also up there.

I will throw in "the neverhood" and perhaps Hyperdimension Neptunia series. although atleast the latter is an aquired taste.

Superman 64

A lot of Nintendo RPGs are funny. Deadpool was pretty funny as well. I also love the humor of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. There's also games that are hilarious through gameplay like Rocket League and Fallout.

Probably Portal 2.

Borderlands 2 for me. Claptrap is just fucking hilarious.

In terms of its gameplay, Road Rash 64.

In terms of its humor overall, I'd say just about any South Park game.

The free game Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden came straight into mind. It takes an absurd scenario (Charles Barkley destroys the world by performing a 'chaos dunk' and now lives in a post-apocalyptic world where basketball has been outlawed) and treats it with deadpan seriousness. It's mostly a parody of RPGs but it's a great comedy in its own right, with many of its jokes being laugh out loud funny. The best thing about it though is just how seriously the story it takes its subject matter. It's also written as a canon sequel to Space Jam.

Tales From the Borderlands is a recent pick. The clever plotting, the sharp writing and the unreliable narration from the two protagonists allowed the game to deliver some funny and clever jokes within its wacky Borderlands universe. The timing, delivery and the direction of the jokes are spot on and is aided by goofy overexaggerated facial expressions and excellent voice acting.

Nintendo games have been mentioned already, but Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is also a very funny game, I'd give it an edge over Super Paper Mario. Its jokes hold up surprisingly well for older audiences.

• TES: Oblivion (I could take a bunch of dead people and position their bodies in very perverse sexual positions, I can probably do same in Fallout 4 just harder as I usually mutilate them in the process of killing them and there's less to work with).

There's funny moments like the one with Iron Bull from DA:I or the trolls riddle in TW3 but i can't think of a single game that was funny the whole game.

I'll go with something I played this year.

Tales from the Borderlands. Game's legit.

Saint's Row 2: Being a really obese ginger guy one moment and being a really skinny guy with a huge afro the next.

You can change voices, walk styles, skin color. You can be a jerk to people or quite nice...

The amount of stupidly funny stuff you can do in that game is endless and I've never found that in SR III or IV. Or any other open world game for that matter.

Runner ups:

- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I'm not even a fan of JRPGs, but I played this game to the end because of its humor and charm. I swore I never thought I'd laugh my ass off with Mario xD
- South Park: The Stick of Truth. It's about as funny as the show. So it's freakin' hilarious !

You can't go wrong with any Paper Mario game that isn't called Sticker Star.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. The game is actually a lot of funnier when you go back to it as an adult to catch all the meta jokes and obscure film references.
