What game made you addicted to the FPS?

Before this generation I didnt really like FPS's. I thought they were all the same and thought it was boring you didnt get to see your character. I remember I was dissapointed when I found out Resistance was an FPS.

Anyway, then I played Resistance and now I really like the genre. What was the first FPS you played that started your FPS addiction?

Perfect Dark 64

That game was so good. Used to have 4 friends over all the time with 4 way split screen. I used to own with dual maulers. It really wasnt fair with 2 charge sshots waiting to one shot everyone while throwing around N-Bombs making everyones screen look like they took a sheet of acid. So much fun.

Ofocurse I played Wolfenstein and Doom and Quake and such but it was Perfect Dark 64 with it multiplayer that really made me fall in love.

None, I'm still waiting for an FPS that I don't find boring.

Rise of the Triad was the first FPS I played multiplayer. It was insanely fun over the LAN back when I was a kid.

Duke Nukem 3d, Quake 3, Shadow Warrior, Blood, AvP, Unreal Tournament, and then Halo kept me addicted. Spent a lot of time in those games!

Robocop 3 for the Atari ST/Amiga/PC, One of the first FPS i remember Release possibly before Wolf 3D, it was deffinately around the same timeframe from what i remember. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYFdgyuv6fU ) Skip to about 16 mins in the vid, game is amazing considering its 16 Years old.

Wolf 3D, i used to play this in School all the time, when i should have been doing schoolwork.

Infestation, Which was a weird FPS-ish game that involved going into some kind of underground moonbase lab, i can never find any screens of it.

Probably Goldeneye for the N64. I played it quite a bit with friends. But that was really just playing it.

The game that got me addicted to FPS was either Halo: CE or Halo 2. I can't remember because I beat the original Halo and played it a few times right before Halo 2 came out, so I'm pretty sure I got addicted with Halo 2 due to the LAN games I did with my friends, but Halo: CE might have been the real reason for it.

Halo and Medal of Honor.

I played a number of first person shooters in the past: Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad, Doom, Quake, etc. but none of them really "hooked" me.

I'd say the FPS that accomplished that was No One Lives Forever (PC)!!! Which I actually played before I played Half-Life, I'm sure HL could have converted me as well. Ever since, it's been my favorite genre.

My first FPS was Marathon, then played Doom - I have to say Marathon was the better game, but the game that truly really was awesome was Half-Life.

Blood is one of the best fps ever came out. That game is the true meaning of a fps

Before the first Halo you would never see me playing any FPS.

I played GoldenEye and Perfect Dak, but never owned either.

Halo 2 multiplayer was the true addiction though.
