i wonder if ps4 games will still suffer from framerate problems that plague so many of the ps3's library.
with the touchpad processor, move 2.0 and eyetoy 2.0 i'm worried that the system may not be able to dedicate enough resources to run the games smoothly. :(
Nothing to worry about. Devs have only praise for the PS4.i wonder if ps4 games will still suffer from framerate problems that plague so many of the ps3's library.

There is that trolling again. The only games with frame rate problems were the badly done multiplat ports.i wonder if ps4 games will still suffer from framerate problems that plague so many of the ps3's library.KarateeeChop
30-60 is fine , if its 60 and smooth texture good if its 30 and highly detail texture good to ,  it really does not bother me unless there is some serious lag  like there was with some of n64s cheaply made gamesÂ
I imagine a great deal of them being 30 fps, especially early in the gen. maybe later we will get more 60 fps games. Who knows
1080p 30 frames per sec for games attempting to push the most graphics ps4 can give
Â
1080p 60 frames per sec for games at a decent level of visual quality but perfering a bit more performance
Â
Â
Â
Killzone 3 Â :1080p 30 frames per sec
Next gen call of duty : 1080p 60 frames per sec
Battle Field 3 : 1080p 60 frames per sec at high graphic settings instead of very high graphic settings. If not they will have to lower to 1080p 30 frames per sec at very high graphic settings like the killzone game. Â Â On pc a 7870 cant give 60 frames per sec at 1080p on very high graphic settings. So im pretty sure battlefield 3 will be 1080p high graphic settings 60 frames per sec.Â
why does it have to be either 30 or 60, why cant it be 45?Nengo_FlowHDMI only supports 24, 30 and 60 refrash rate, so for smoothness they should aim on one of those

It's interesting because Killzone: Shadow Fall is running at 30fps, but Digital Foundry has said Geurilla could easily make it 60fps if they wish.
My guess is 1080p 30fps standard with some exceptions.

They didn't say that, they said it could easily go above 30 if they uncapped it. That's not saying it could easily do 60. They keep it at 30 to stop it going up and down all the time making it too jarring to look at, going above 30 to say 45 and then back down to 30 again over and over doesn't look very good and it would start to make 30 seem choppy by comparison. It also means less screen tearing to keep it locked at 30 amd more stability in the image.Â

"Also note that of course there is nothing to stop devs targeting 60FPS if they so wish."
Yes it would be choppy going back in forth between 45 and 30fps so I'd prefer a lock. Though the quote doesn't EXACTLY say they could do 60fps easily. That doensn't mean they can't pull it off. It's a launch game with many more months to go and it's on new hardware. I don't think anyone should be suprised we don't have Day 1 60fps games.
I really don't think 1080p and 60 fps are going to be sustainable for long in AAA games. One or the other (more often framerate) is going to start being sacrificed in the name of effects/scale.Â

I'll wager framerate will get chopped down before 1080p does, mostly because 30 FPS is fine for console games. It's not like most people would notice the difference.

Less informed people just couldn't pin down what was different. Still, console gamers are happy with 30, so nobody will be in a hurry to raise standards.

People who have only ever played on consoles won't care, which is basically what I meant. Even then, I have a hard time noticing 60 to 30 FPS unless you put them back to back for me.

Exactly, what's the point of going for 60fps if consumers don't even notice it? Only hardcore hermits and consolites will notice. Devs want that visual flair to their game than making it run at 60fps. The first impression is to the consumer is graphics, not fps.
