What are your favorite Game Pass titles? (PC or Xbox)

With as many games that are on Game Pass, and not having to buy them individually, it gives a lot of freedom to try out games we wouldn't have purchased outright. So I have played many games on there that I wouldn't have bought because I either wasn't familiar with the title or developer, or it was something that I didn't think I would like, but ended up enjoying. So what are your favorite Game Pass titles?

For me, it'd be Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Halo MCC, Streets of Rage 4, and Battletoads. And games I didn't think I'd like or were unfamiliar with, so I wouldn't have purchased them if not available on here are Ori and the Will of Wisps, Metal Slug X, Two Point Hospital, and Levelhead.

I recently cancelled my gamepass membership on PC after announcing the price hike and still having a junk selection

When the game was first announced, I had to go look at the latest Blair Witch movie which came on Sy-Fy channel at the time to understand what's the series is about. You'll probably enjoy it more if you have some understanding of the lore, but it's not required viewing then I thought at first. If you do decide to watch anything of it, first watch the original, the sequel "Book of Shadows" was terrible, and the recent Remake which I watch first wasn't that great either.

As for the game itself, it was a decent playthrough, and no spoilers but the ending ruined everything for me. I was left pissed off and unsatisfied with how it ends. It was okay though, I was hooked from start to finish, but it’s definitely just an “okay” game but the "Dog must live" was really a pain in the ass! At least it was on Game Pass, so not like I pay full price so if you have Game Pass, give it a try, what do you have to lose?

I've barely sampled them, but the majority of the list on PC is good - good indies, good AAA; many are a bit older, but the variety is surprisingly strong. That's the reason I decided to stick with it after the price hike - there's a good 30 games on there that I was genuinely hoping to play at some point and now they are at my finger tips for when I'm ready.

Unfortunately, Forza Horizon 4 was a no-go for me. I have Game Pass on PC, so those on consoles probably had better luck but M$ uses this goofy system of simulated IPV6 over IPV4 with something called Teredo which may be the cause for it, but bottom line is I'm lucky to connect FH4 to any online services at all.

I've only played a little bit of the first Ori for PC. Got the $1 deal but most games I wanted to try wouldn't run on my laptop. I mainly got it for Minecraft for my daughter but didn't realize at the time that the games offered on xbox gamepass were different from the games offered on PC gamepass.(I thought all first party games were on both, especially that Minecraft would be) So I kinda screwed myself there. Canceled, and haven't looked at it since.

wow the hate for remakes. so xbox series x is not going to have xbox one remasters? only ps5? so you don't want updated xbox one games? no added raytracing etc. to there games?

love it xbox players do not want updated xbox one games because there remasters.

ps1-ps3 3d graphics sometimes is painful to play. ps1 games forget it i can't even play them. its to jaggy.

old 2d games is much easier to stomach.

so go have fun not wanting updated last gen games. because thats what that says above.

ps4 remasters = updated last gen games. so you don't want xbox to do the same?

Games thoroughly enjoyed that I only played because of Gamepass:

Below, Outer Worlds, Ace Combat 7, Grounded, Minecraft Dungeons, Nier Automata, Streets of Rage 4, Absolver, Ori 2, NBA 2K20, FH4, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 (my first Crackdown), The Escapist.

Games thoroughly enjoyed that I own that are on Gamepass (in some cases removing need for the disk):

Ori 1, MGSV:PP, PUBG, Monster Hunter, Elder Scrolls Online, Sunset Overdrive.

Off the top, so I'm probably forgetting some stuff (definitely am as I have 240+ games on my HD), but I've played more games ever because of Gamepass, so much value for myself, throw in the kids and its exponential.

Games that I enjoyed

• Outer Wilds ( if you like adventure puzzle games this game is must try)
• Carrion (despite the lack of a map and sometimes frequent disorientation this game was fun to play)
• Grounded (not a fully released or realized games since its still in development but its a solid survival game)
• Luna Nights ( very weeb friendly but the game is surprisingly solid. I only played for an hour but I wasn't disappointed)
• A Plagues Tale (if you haven't try this game you should give it a go)
• Ori and the Will of the Wisp ( great game despite being a bit buggy at launch)
• Greedfall (better than I expected)
• Rime (older but a pretty solid experience)

Hotshot racing is another new favourite very enjoyable retro racer.

Panzer dragoon even though its leaving soon nostalgic at it core.

@sealionact: nice try. PS4 has released higher quality games in the last 5 months than the bone has for 6 years.

You will take notice in the near future of what true quality games does for a console when PS5 outsells every Xbox variant for another gen. No amount of throwing money at the problem will fix that either bud.

@phlop_spencer: Eh, hate to break it to ya....but you will be throwing more money at the problem than I will....Let's say 2 games at 70 each, plus a year's psnplus on top of the console = 700 bucks day one, and those games won't last you a month.

I cough up 35 a month and get a smaller,.more powerful console with EAplay, games with gold, gamepass for console, xcloud and gamepass for pc all included.

As for quality on ps5....the only next gen exclusive it launches with is a PS3 remake...Oh, and a built in demo that lets you blow your controller.

Yeah, they were hasty with the PC price hike. It's worth it if your into a few of the big hits on there, but if you're casually into them, there isn't enough.

The problem is in your mind. You are solely focused on hardware sales as a measurement for success. Xbox isn't going to win that, but they don't need to. They moved from hardware to services, Xbox, PC, it doesn't matter to them, it's all one market to them to gain access to their games and services.

What MSs doing makes more sense than ever for them. Games are digital anyway these days, so just include most devices that aren't competition and distribute online. They aren't fanboys, so why wouldn't they reach out to the PC market.

At the end of the day, you can maximise profits or you can say that you sold loads of consoles, you can't do both. Because there is probably potentially more PC gamers than console gamers, seeing as nearly any PC can play something, so for MS to combine their market, that's not a bad idea.

So I think Gamepass will be MSs measurement for success, because that's their ecosystem. If PS5 sells 80M consoles, and Xbox sells 60M plus and MS do really well with Gamepass accross both the Xbox and PC, they would have done fantastic business and made a ton of money.

In my personal opinion, if MS market and promote the Series S correctly with Gamepass, I think that could be a big hit among the more casual and mainstream gamers. If you just want to play the latest sports games or whatever and you don't give a flying f**k about 4K, and there's this cheap console that will allow you to do that, that's a big deal.

Either way, I think this will be a very interesting gen.

Hmm, unfortunately, 3 games some of you have listed that I'd really like to play aren't on Game Pass for PC. Outer Wilds, Hotshot Racing, and Ace Combat 7. All are available through steam though.
