DFI Lanparty w/ C2D 4300.

1GB RAM

2xX1900 Crossfire Edition

Razer Tarantula keyboard with Diamondback mouse.

2x160GB 10K RAID.

Nothing fancy. It's all about maximum frames per second and accuracy in online shooters and the RAID array is to help speed up strategy and simulation games. More RAM wouldn't hurt but 1GB is usually enough.

Well, I just made a switch and got a C2D 2.67, with 2GB of RAM, a total of 200 GB of HD space, and a 512mb nVidia Quadro. It's a laptop, btw.

I kinda need a beefy system, since I pretty much make my living through Autodesk Inventor, ProE, CATIA and the ilk. I really, really need to do something about my home pc, though. I recently fried my mobo in a rather bizarre... well, I simply don't know what happened, so right now it's a big metal/plastic box designed to hold 2gb of ram, a 7600GT, and an undeniably ancient Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! MP3+.

Damn, I didn't know they made a Geforce 4 MX with only 32MB. I remember they basically cancelled the MX 460 because the whole GF4 MX line was crappy. It was based off of GF2 technology.

Motherboard: Asus P4S800D-X Socket 478
CPU: Pentium 4 clocked @ 2.6667 GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon X1650 Pro core clocked @ 594 MHz
VRAM: 512MB
RAM: 2304 MB DDR-333
HDD: 80GB + 160GB SATA 7200RPM (?)
DVD: 12x DVD read-only
CD: 50x read 12x write
PSU: 500W
Monitor: 21" Viewsonic VGA CRT with maximum reported resolution of 2048x1536 and maximum reported refresh rate of 160 Hz.

Runs BioShock beautifully in DX9 on HIGH settings at a steady 30fps. I'm going to wait a couple months longer before upgrading as it seems this computer should last a little while longer.

Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (with HYPER-THREADING. Woo!)

1 Gig DDR ram

2 hard drives, a 120 gig and an old 34 gig I use for backups

Radeon 9600XT 128 mb

SB Audigy 1 card.

It was really awesome when I built it in 2004! Today, not so much.

I'll eventually build a new one, it's just not too high on my priority list these days.

This only thing missing from this set-up is a friggen' decent gaming mouse; other than that, this set-up only cost about $1,500, excluding the surround sound system.

My processors slower, and we "technically" have the exact same amount of RAM. Just that your graphic card is a true rofler of a card in todays world. What can it run lol? My laptop can pull off HL2 with everything set to minimum and get about 13FPS. 8)

E6850 @ 4.0 + modded tuniq tower

4gig G.skill ram @ 950 / 3-3-4-5 timings

EVGA 8800GTX

EVGA 650i with modified heatsink / southbridge cooling / thermal paste

Antec case with 4 120mm fans + 200mm fan

150gb raptor / 2 750gb WD perpendicular drives

Vlite'd Vista with Kaspersky, Socketlock, Xp-antispy, ashamploo uninstaller, superantispyware, SSL, service and registry tweaks, etc... only 300mb ram used during idle so my gaming is on par or better than xp.

Sennheiser 485hd headphones / Creative X-tremegamer

Ultra X-pro 750w psu

Sony FW900 24" crt

You would think I spent a fortune on this, but I didn't. The total bill was under $1500 monitor included but san harddrives, which btw is awesome! You just gotta shop smart and build yourself. The only part from newegg was the memory. This rig allows me to play any game made today including Bioshock at my native 1920x1200 res.
