Nothing fancy. It's all about maximum frames per second and accuracy in online shooters and the RAID array is to help speed up strategy and simulation games. More RAM wouldn't hurt but 1GB is usually enough.

Well, I just made a switch and got a C2D 2.67, with 2GB of RAM, a total of 200 GB of HD space, and a 512mb nVidia Quadro. It's a laptop, btw.

I kinda need a beefy system, since I pretty much make my living through Autodesk Inventor, ProE, CATIA and the ilk. I really, really need to do something about my home pc, though. I recently fried my mobo in a rather bizarre... well, I simply don't know what happened, so right now it's a big metal/plastic box designed to hold 2gb of ram, a 7600GT, and an undeniably ancient Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! MP3+.

You would think I spent a fortune on this, but I didn't. The total bill was under $1500 monitor included but san harddrives, which btw is awesome! You just gotta shop smart and build yourself. The only part from newegg was the memory. This rig allows me to play any game made today including Bioshock at my native 1920x1200 res.
