Was Gears of war 2 graphically a failure?

Don't remember much, but I remember being there much hype on it. We didn't get much footage though and when it finally release they where less then average. Am I correct? I'm just wondering because me and my friend were arguing about it.

Looked better than GeoW1.

There was a lot of fuss about it in SW...You know,with UC2.

Yeah, I remember Uncharted 2 really blew it out of the water. But I'm giving credit where credit is do, Gears 3 has defiently uped its game a lot.

IMO it was the best looking game on consoles when it released, MGS4 be damned.

Sure it was beaten pretty quickly by KZ2 but I'd say Gears 2 was still a great looking game.

I'm sick of these fan boys. I do own both Uncharted 2 and Gears of war 2, and I believe Gears 3 looks superior to Uncharted 3 but really? Gears 2 looks superior to Uncharted 3. Is that a joke?

Looked pretty good in 2008 so... no, some games looked a lot better of course but I have a soft spot for Gears mainly due to the co-opy goodness.

Is this a joke? I even have played both, I believe it's obvious I have a love for Gears. But I'm perfectly willing to admit and it's fact Uncharted 2, and especially 3 look better then Gears 2.

Never said UC2 sucked just that when listening to the hype on SW, it was underwhelming. And I have seen better looking games than Gears 2, in terms of artistic design and variety. (Good looking technically but a bit bland at parts.)

Totally agree, Gears 1 art was phenominal. The kyril easily tops every moment I've ever had in gaming.
