Permanently banned if you were caught playing a downloaded version through file sharing softwares.
What do you think? Too harsh or just right?

bunch of babies imo.I approve of Microsoft's actions. Justice must be served by any means necessary.

I second this.
wont stop the pirates, you can always make another account, not like lossing 50 steam games that are tied to an account if that got banned. imprezawrx500No you cant. When they give out permanent bans they ban your motherboard's ID. That means you must replace your console in order to go online once again.

No online play, access to the marketplace, friends list or anything until you buy a new console. Still, its not like you cant just disconnect from live while you play.
[QUOTE="Shad0ki11"]bunch of babies imo. You're so right there. How dare MS ban those who have stolen one of their games instead of paying for it like they should. In fact, I think MS should just leak the game themselves, make it available to put on a jump drive and play it directly from that. All of that without charging one single penny. That's a brilliant business move there, isn't it? :roll:I approve of Microsoft's actions. Justice must be served by any means necessary.

[QUOTE="wooooode"]Not harsh enough they should prosecute everyone of them they have their IP address they could do it if they wanted.Nedemisthis..... :) pirates are ruining the industry far worse then retailers such as Gamestop. It would cost far more to even think about prosucuting everyone that pirates than pirates cost the industry. Lawsuits hurt any industry they're focused at and apart from the odd token lawsuit to put the fear of god into would be pirates Microsoft will not pursue this.
[QUOTE="TheGrat1"]LOL @ IF. Won't stop them anyway. [QUOTE="shadow_hosi"]True banhammers don't need bling to get the job doneshadow_hosiThe truth. I totally agree with their policy...
Though i really doubt this will affect the single player games . They trying to do the same with the pirate versions of Windows XP though , crackers find a way to crack any MS's trick. I think the same will happen to any single player game. And Halo wont be exception , they threat or not !!

Even if a health gamer/person should agree with this , and is totally logic to... In fact only small companies are affected by pirates!! Do you think for example COD:MW2 will suffer from pirates and activisions wont have a huge profit because of piracy?.. Far from truth... Im against piracy , though there isnt any runing industry to begin with.. JUust some people will make some million less. LEts say from 700M down to 500M... Big deal when the game will cost 20-30M total.... Small companies got the real prob here. But industry as a whole? I found it healthy enough , even with piracy. IM AGAINST piracy though , dont take me wrong.
Oh, I'd say it's a fair punishment ;). Pirated software is the same thing as shoplifting (no doubt :P), so I'd say just throw their asses in jail. Account banning is a little lenient, in my eyes. Then again, I hate thieves with a passion. DethSkematikI think the punishment is just and software piracy is bad but piracy is not the same as stealing in the sense that the owner hasn't been deprived of anything.

wont stop the pirates, you can always make another account, not like lossing 50 steam games that are tied to an account if that got banned. imprezawrx500No you can't - Microsoft has started banning the box itself, rather than just the user accounts. That means if you let you friend put a pirated copy of ODST on your system, you may find not only that your LIVE account is gone, but that your 360 can no longer connect to LIVE, period.
