Uncharted: the reigning Graphics King of the console market? (56k warning)

Rented Uncharted last night, and decided to take some pics during my playthrough.

There were times in this game that my jaw dropped on its own accord.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The graphics king to beat for the console market?

To tell you the truth, I have seen much better pics of Uncharted than those.

And also, the character models suck.

I want to know why there was no video review :|

And yes Uncharted is a visually beautiful game.

Technically speaking, Assassin's Creed is a more beautiful game when taking the size of the game and stacking it up against Uncharted's linear environments.fakecliche

And Assassins is NOTHING like Fable 2, which is as huge, but with 100000x more detail and more next gen graphics

I have to agree, what I noticed even more than the environments were the incredible facial expressions.

Great looking environments I've seen many times actually being able to see emotion on the toons faces is pretty new.

Hurry up on that sequel.

Mass Effect looks a lot better, but it i Fable 2 that will make this empty, small level game look so old gen, it will not be considered even passable anymore

No, Mass Effect does not look better than Uncharted. Uncharted is sharper, has better lighting, more detailed character models, and better animations. Mass Effect also suffers from a host of technical issues that drag down its presentation, including some jarring texture pop-in. But it is nevertheless a beautiful game and a beautiful universe--but on technical grounds it is not as good as Uncharted.

Fable 2 looks beautiful, but we're only comparing games that have been released. And judging by Molyneux's presentation, Uncharted rivals Fable 2 pound for pound, including far superior character models and animations. But some aspects of Fable 2's environment, like grass and trees for instance, look more detailed than Uncharted.

No, Mass Effect does not look better than Uncharted. Uncharted is sharper, has better lighting, more detailed character models, and better animations. Mass Effect also suffers from a host of technical issues that drag down its presentation, including some jarring texture pop-in. But it is nevertheless a beautiful game and a beautiful universe--but on technical grounds it is not as good as Uncharted.

Nothing noticeable. I might have seen a glimpse here or there.

With Mass Effect, I don't know what I'm looking at sometimes when I load the game. Then it turns out 10 seconds later that I was staring at a rock.

Uncharted has much better animations and the character models in Mass Effect lose a lot of detail once you get more the 5 feet away.Ibacai

Uncharted is the graphics king for the PS3. It's looks so delicious.

But I do think the Character models look better in Mass Effect overall.Ibacai

Wrex is very detailed and so are some of the other alien character models, but I've never seen a human character in ME with skin shaders like this:

Also, Uncharted's models just look more polished to me. But it is a close race between the two.

The humans in Mass Effect are less impressive but the aliens are what pushed me in favor of Mass Effect. But it's like saying what is better, one million dollars or one million and one dollars?Ibacai

Everyone knows that one million and one dollars is soooo much better, and anyone who cant see that is completely blind.

graphically uncharted is uparalalled, except for the character models, that honour belongs to mass effectstika

Plus you could customize your Mass Effect characters with all kinds of armors and such. While you wear the same thing in Uncharted.
