Top reason why Dead Island 2 might be good

It's made not by Techland but by a great German development team, Yager, who made most excellent (with regards to plot and choices at least) Spec Ops: The Line and forgotten OG Xbox eponymously (as in taking their own name) titled classic.

I think it could stand for another great commentary about human anguish among zombies.

Let the hype begin in 3...2...1...

I quite liked the first Dead Island, it only got annoying towards the end when every time you got killed and went back to a checkpoint your weapon degradation carried along with it.

Yeah yeah yeah very nice.... Now tell me about the Multiplayer situation.... I want Split Screen ! :)

I actually like both Yager and Techland, but still I was surprised and happy to see Yager doing this. Because of several reasons:

-Techland is already working on numerous games, and 2 of them recently got postponed. Would be wrong to postpone the games you are working on to make a new one.

-I'd rather have another COJ: Gunslinger by Techland.

I have enjoyed Spec Ops and COJ: Gunslinger a lot, but Dead Island not so much. So I'm very interested to see what Yager can do.

I would have preferred seeing some gameplay but then again, this had to be one of the few CGI trailers I actually liked.

Played the first Dead island. Didn't like it instantly.

Might hold off on this one until it's more than a generic zombie shooter.

I don't need a zombie drama, the first two Dead Island games were actually fun.

Many critics of the first Dead Island that criticized it at launch said the game was damn fun, they just couldn't give it a good rating due to how broken the game was with all the glitches. Well, they patched the glitches, at least the worst of them, and the game was indeed damn fun.

The second game, Riptide, was also a lot of the same damn fun the first game was. It was less glitchy but then a whole new set of standards like they didn't evolve and overhaul the game enough was the new standard; hey, I thought the first game was fun, more of the same tried and true gameplay is what I wanted.

Anyhow, Techland has Dying Light being published by WBIE, Deep Silver has Yager making Dead Island 2, I'm cool with this, but I hate that people rip on Dead Island when they actually turned out to be quite fun. The only thing people who bitch know how to do is go to MetaCritic to validate their otherwise baseless hate.

I'm glad though, I liked Dead Island, a new one coming is cool, and Dying Light is basically Dead Island in everything but name. Plus I hear a Dead Island MOBA is coming, that could be cool.

The only thing I like about Dead Island and Riptide is Sam B who was one of the best characters and he was a Tank. I really hope Dead Island 2 [also Dying Light] has a Character like Sam B and who is a Tank using Blunt Weapons.

SONY made it happen and more importantly that little girl's dream came true. That among other things is how SONY handily and quite frankly won E3 easily.

Wasn't spec ops only remembered for making you feel guilty for playing? How was the actual gameplay?

The melee combat in DI was actually amazing. (Bethesda, take not. That's how you do first person melee combat)

The DI trailer, however, did not reflect the tone of the game.

DI2 trailer, I think, will reflect the game more accurately, and this not give gamers preconceived notions about the tone.

DI 2, I think, will be good.

It looks like its trying to be edgy/cool/overthetop.... we already have crappy games like that. Stick to what made DI so great in the first place. Please don't let that be Jack Black. Way to ruin a franchise. Dying light is our only hope.
