I hate to sound like a Japan-basher, but t'is a batch of games assembled on an "autopilot setting" and not a single one of them straying away even a pixel from their microscopic comfort zone.

The Japanese have bad taste. But hey, at least GTA V and TLOU are on there. I'm kinda surprised about that to be honest.

its not called a bad taste or something but they are really looking forward "have a content" than doesnt have(sheesh...DLC/online multiplayers on western games) but for them the more time you use on the game  its fun than being a social shooter on xboxlive if not.....they prefer using monster hunter than shooters...(yeah..that is real issues)

Soul Sacrifice ISNT the most anticipated Vita game coming out?......wha?

nah even the shooters in the west fall short in comparison to the rpgs released in Japan

Was expecting much worse. I was expecting that 1-5 would be stuff low quality jrpgs from NIS such as "Hyperdimension Neptunia", or maybe some weird dating sim where you date amputees

That list was surprisingly normal but there are too many portable titles, grrr...

No Monster Hunter 4, or Pokemon X/Y? Bombas incoming.

Surprised for GTA V anticipation...

But then again, the GTA games did get some success over there.

The Japanese obviously enjoy the XIII saga.  Why in the world would they want Square-Enix to stop making them?  Makes no sense.

Japan has to re-arm with China becoming more dominant in the region. It's not just Japan either. Every country in the Far East is rearming except maybe the Philippines. The latter is far too dependent on the US defense umbrella to modernize.

WW2 is a very touchy subject whenever I visited Japan. I learned quickly to avoid any reference to it even with the JASDF folks I used to work with. 

That's probably a much better list than what we'd get over hear IMHO.

not even close to comparable. The west enjoys a far greater range of games. How many shooters are released every year? 3 or 4? CoD, maybe a Halo... or Battlefield... and then on a staggered year you might have Bioshock or Medal of Honor (feels wrong mentioning those two together).... In Japan it seems to be generic RPG after generic RPG.... once in a while you get a shiny gem like Ni No Kuni.... but even that game shares alot of typical JRPG tropes with many other JRPGs.

Japan is not the leader in the industry they once were. I don't suspect they will ever lead again, tbh.

I like Japan's list and have already pre-ordered a couple on  that list...sadly I'm not fluent enough in Japanese or I would pick up some of the more text-heavy titles

Japanese have no taste.

Other than GTA V and Last of Us.

TLOU, Macross, GTA 5, Ace Attorney, MGR and Killer is Dead are the only things there that look good. Although there are alot of RPGs at least there's some variety with GTA and TLOU etc... because I honestly thought that list would be alot worse.

I think it's an okay list.

Just because there's no Tomb Raider or Bioshock Infinite or Indie games doesn't mean the list is bad.
