The revenue not included the DLC or Microtransaction, as expected PUBG number one with more than half billion dollar. Old Game like GTA V, Witcher 3 and DS3 still selling pretty good.

No Bethesda games on top 20, UBI the best developer by performance has 4 games on top 20 (For Honor, Ghost Recon, R6, and AC Origin)

Most of those games are good :)

So if I'm reading this chart correctly it's looking good for Kingdom Come in 2018? That game deserves more attention. I'm so happy that the GS crew made several video's on it.

Recently I started to love history and just the castles alone are so amazing.

Just put 'em on Switch. They'll buy anything.

@BenjaminBanklin: yeah, apparently the developer of A Blossom Tale said that it sold 20 to 1 on Switch over sales on steam.

yeah on that list I think Ark is the only one I have given serious thought to.

Not impressive list at all. I do think its evidence that marketing does work

I'm still waiting for all the patches to come to PS4 and a price drop before buying but yeah that game looks really good. I love accurate historic settings in games.

Fair enough, they're good games.

I hope you realise my original comment was pure sarcasm though? I'm more than well aware that PC has more games and more genre's than consoles can ever dream of having

This is why some people think PC games don't sell. They just have such a limited view of what games and genres are actually available, they can't see past the AAA games that marketing shoves in their faces on a daily basis. There are so many excellent games out there but because the developers can't afford Super Bowl adverts, they go unseen by the majority of gamers.

It's AAA or nothing gamer's loss I suppose.

absolutely true

and on top of it they expend a great deal of energy and effort to remain ignorant of those games. they actually put in real effort to not know.

very bizzare

So sad not to see games like Wolfenstein on there... we need to support SP-story driven shooters like this.

If more people wanted games like that it would sell more. Corridor FPS are boring.

If it is not a AAA third person action adventure, third person shooter, first person shooter, sports game, racing game or at the very least something that heavily relies on button mashing action combat like fighting games and hack n slash games then it does not exist to most console gamers. Even with some of these genres such as first person shooters on consoles there isn't much variety or innovation as in comparison to PC.

I have to agree. I bought Wolfenstein 1 and 2 last year, and although they were well done with goofy stories, they weren't earth shattering. Open ended games have spoiled me. They're just objectively better.

Linear games tend to do better on consoles (see shovelware like Uncharted, TLoU, etc.).

@hrt_rulz01: Yeah I recently got all the DLC for WF2 looks pretty cool, though that game came out end of last year and many of the games on that list were out longer so I think it could still have sold well just not high enough to appear on this list

@Litchie:

Dungeon Fighter Online (2005) is an MMO beat 'em up, popular in Asia. It's the highest-grossing online game of all time.

CrossFire (2007) is an MMO FPS, also popular in Asia. It's the highest-grossing FPS of all time.

Roblox (2006) is an MMO sandbox game, popular among children. It's somewhat similar to Minecraft, but Roblox came first (and isn't as fugly as Minecraft)
