Top 100 First Person Shooters - Killzone 3 = #70 lol

I hate lists like these. Everything after 20 might as well be in alphabetical order.

the fact that Killzone 3 is on the list but Killzone 2 isn't on the list as well or in KZ3's place means the list is devoid of any credibility to begin with.

Halflife at the top, we could see a mile away. Even a website as bad as IGN should be able to see this clear as day. At this point, only hipsters attempt to throw mud (badly) at Halflife.

Actually shooters have degenerated into walking in a straight line wacking moles as they pop up for 5 hours with highly uninteractive scripted sequences and AI that should be revoked. It's pretty sad a game from 1998 stil feels ahead. But hey, thats console influence for ya.

Glad to see Half Life at the top, it's not my favorite FPS game of all time but I played it in 2010 and it was still very enjoyable. That's crazy good for a game made in 1998. Quake 3 at 17 is disappointing however, it easily deserves to be in the top 10.

Also sad to see Shadow of Chernobyl didn't make the cut, that game is phenomenal for what it is. Half Life 2 doesn't deserve to be in the top ten, let alone number three.

COD in the top 10? Above Goldeneye? And Bioshock? And counterstrike? List has no credibility.

Why is Unreal Tournament listed twice?

Otherwise, I suppose it's an okay list. I personally prefer HL2 to to HL, but I won't complain since the former was also very high on the list.

Also, I don't understand why BioShock is so popular.

KZ 2 was the best of the bunch. Excellent game with its own identiy still intact.

IGN failed for having Killzone 3 on the list, but no Killzone 2. KZ2 is one of my favorite shooters ever.

I only miss No One Lives Forever 2 in that list. The first one was ok, but the second is a fantastic FPS. 

Wow IGN is becoming an even bigger joke.

This list sucks so bad, I'm surprised they didn't include Aliens: Colonial Marines since they obviously like being the joke of the gaming industry.

15 years later, and Half Life is still topping charts. That game is way good. Still outclasses every other FPS as far as as single player is concerned.

As for the entire list, it appears to lose structure after about #20 or so. It seems like IGN was like "dang...we probably really shouldn't have been shooting to name 100 FPS games, so let's take what we got, paste it on the dart board, and throw darts to figure out the order of all the rest"

killzone 2 deserves a spot on that list; and even higher than kz 3, KZ 2 was one of the greatest PS3 exclusives to grace the system. the multiplayer was magnificent, absolutely magnificent - hearing the Helghast narrator during the multiplayer matches was just absolutely oustanding and added to the incredible immersion and gunplay. man i do miss that game.

I really do not understand what the madclad is about Half Life, people make it sound like its the second coming or something but i played that game in the orange box thingy and found it just another shooter, albiet you had a crow bar and the ability to lift stuff, then zombies and aliens....but whatever

Bioshock shouldn't even be top 50, but other than that it's a nice list. KZ3 is where it belongs imo.

Nothing. And what is really impressive is that you can boot up and play Half Life even now and still have great fun. Obviously the graphics are dated a bit, but thats only first impression. As soon as you start playing, you completely forget about that and it is just as enjoyable as it ever was.

Nah. Mods not required. I wouldn't complain. Sure I wouldn't give it graphics awards today, that would be akin to insanity, but why complain? Appreciate the maximum that the engine and artwork can deliver on your hardware. 

My fav shooter this gen is Far Cry 3.

Killzone 2 the best.

Give black mesa a shot, it's not really a "mod" but it's a complete remake of the original, but it doesn't ruin it.
