Time to wake up! 3rd party support on a Nintendo platform hasn't been this good since the 1990's.

Switch is one hell of a system. Honestly I'm playing it more than anything right now.

I'll agree. Switch has a great library.

I can say with confidence that I'd never play any of those games on Switch.

Except Golf Story. Golf Story is amazing, and sadly, exclusive. 10/10 easily the best game on the Switch.

Damn, the original Breath of Fire is on the list. Nicely Done Nintendo. While not as good as 2 or 3 it is still a damn good game. For anyone looking for an RPG better than the ones you always hear about, go play that instead.

...and they are all portable. Really amazed by how many full fledge games we have in the palm of our hand. I remember what gameboy ports looked and played like.

I only care about first party stuff on the switch. I really don't like the idea of playing water downed ports that are better on other systems. I'd just rather buy 3d party stuff on more powerful hardware.

That's cool, but I would not play any of those on switch.

Old potato games and shit versions of more demanding games are nothing to get excited about.

The Switch definitely has a great library getting bigger all the time. But the versions on the switch do tend to be the worst ones, so there’s that too.

I will say Nintendo is doing it right with support this time around.

Yikes - that list makes me think 3rd party is worse on the Switch than I thought. Plus your list has some older or irrelevant versions of the franchise - not to mention the lowest quality/feature rich port of the lot.

The Switch is bad for 3rd party. Your list actually confirms that.

Go play the damn thing if it’s so great rather than being an unpaid shill for a niche handheld.

If you keep buying bad Nintendo products, they’ll continue to make obsolete systems.

All major AAA 3rd party disappears come Nov 2020 unless a Pro version comes out.

How about that state of the art hd7790 the beast was packing when it came out? That sick Xbox 1st party lineup vs the Switch's 3rd party really a hill you want to die on?

Those are a lot of ports of old games you can play anywhere else, but the SNES had real third party support. Everybody was making games for Nintendo back then.

I play most the big AAA multiplats on other systems, but it's good seeing that degree of support. I seem to talk to more and more people who say it's the only game system they own. I mostly just play the Nintendo exclusive content, and re-releases I love, like just got Katamari Re-Roll, and will definitely have to pick up Deadly Premonition re-release. I might dip into thr big AAA third party multiplats later when they're dirt cheap.

The discussion is not about the caliber of third party games. Rather, it's to put the kibosh on the myth of Nintendo not having 3rd party support. Regardless what people might say, I'm able to play many of the same games on Switch as I can X1.
