Arkane Studios revealed that three DLC packs for Dishonored are in the works, the first one call Dunwall City Trials coming out in December. It will be $5 and have 10 challenge maps that will test the different aspects of the gameplay (like one will be a hoard like mode). There also will be a online leaderboard for these challenges.

The other two DLC are story driven with the second DLC pack (coming spring 2013) involving Draud and his group of assassins, and that the choices made in that DLC will affect the ending to the game.

Sounds good. Love Dishonored so I will definitely look into these.

Yeah 3 hours if you do a speedrun.

Took me 15 hours through a single run, through I didn't paid full price for the game anyway.

I got through it in 12 but come on, if they have 3 full DLCs ready to go then they should have been in the bloody game already. It's not exactly a short game but a bit longer would have been nice.

If the DLC's were already complete before the game came out., then why have one release in December and the other by Spring? :P

You really think they have them ready to go? The 2nd pack isn't coming till spring next year so I really doubt it ready.

I honestly don't mind much, as long as they're not expensive.

Hm, too bad, will have to wait for the GOTY edition now, or for a really good discount...

A shame, wanted to play the game this year...

Great news. I loved Dishonored so I will buy every one of them and I normally never buy DLC.

Especially looking forward to the story based ones !:D

One coming in december, one coming in spring next year and one coming even later in 2013 is not ready to go.

I imagine those challenges don't require the whole team to make and take less time to make than DLC that will offer a story/campagin comparable to the original game but shorter.

Same here. 15 hours and I didn't even discover everything the game has to offer.

It's like saying the original Mario Bros is a 5 minute game because someone can finish it that fast... but then again it's Obviously_right who is saying it so I'm not surprised

hmm I haven't played the game yet but I don't see the problem with this. It's optional and I'm pretty sure they didn't take it out of the game to sell it as DLC. Sounds like something they're just coming up now instead of having it on the side while they're developing the game.

I hear the game is pretty long anyways so... though I might wait for a game of the year edition anyways. :P

Fine by me, awesome game and I definitely want more of it, what's with all the butthurt in this thread? I hope they add a new game + option as well, would be fun to play with all the powers even if it would make things super easy.

The game's length depends if you're going stealth or not, and if you plan to kill or not. It could be as short as 3-5 hours to 15+ hours long.

Yeah bad wording on my part. What I meant was the idea of them. If they had more content ideas in mind then why not just have them in the game. Or patch them in later for free. Not make people pay for them

Extra content like this would take extra development time and would increase development costs.

I would like more free DLC but it seems like the only big company still doing free DLC is Valve, there are a lot of indie developers that do too. But that's about it. That's the reality of this industry, not just the case here with Dishonored.

If it had achievements, I would give it a look. Otherwise, I get enough challenge from the main story.

Now, to your sig... Well... Hubbahubba.

There is no way in hell I'd throw more money at Dishonored. Hugely overrated so I don't think the DLC would make it more satisfactory for me :(

I read on the bethesda blog that each DLC pack will come with its own achievements so yes.

I'm more interested in story-based DLC too, but seeing as its more Dishonored for only 5 bucks I'm probably going to get it.

Me neither.

Supposedly the dlc planned for next year will focus on other characters and flesh out their back-story.

Sounds ok to me.

I think it will have achievements. Maybe the standard 250 points. I hope your next sig features more Allison Brie :o

Played the game, done with it.
I am finding continually less use for DLC as I surrender to the idea that I will hardly ever own a whole game anyway.
And for the price of DLC you can buy indi games that are real good.
With DLC instead of expansion packs, developers haven't necessarily made a good move. Even if they do everything right, DLC still has its disadvantages.

I'm not seeing the issue here. $5 for what will probably be a nice addition to the game in the form of a challenge mode? Sounds like a deal to me.
