I have been playing this game for the last few nights with lights out and the sound up. And, wow! This is an incredibly scary game! Does anyone else agree/disagree?

[QUOTE="Gusslefuss"]Says the person who jumped like 20,000 times in the first few minutes. :P Pfft, stop making fun of my full body twitch disorder! It had nothing to do with the game!Nah, it's not scary.

Honest!
Scariest games that comes to mind:
1. Eternal Darkness
2. REmake, first play through when I had never played the original on PS1
3. The Seventh Guest on pc
4. Doom 3
Both REmake and 7th Guest were all very scary. However, I can't really say that Eternal Darkness scared me... at all. I was actually really disappointed with that.Scariest games that comes to mind:

The Fatal Frame games are pretty terrifying, but the Siren games really freak me out. It's the whole experience. The sounds, the music, the weird shibito, the environment, etc. A real spook for me.
Dude, I still need to get Blood Curse... do you think it's worth it?The Fatal Frame games are pretty terrifying, but the Siren games really freak me out. It's the whole experience. The sounds, the music, the weird shibito, the environment, etc. A real spook for me.

Hell yes! The hospital level is worth it alone. A dark and broken down hospital. Shibito roaming around doing weird things. You play as a tiny girl with no combat whatsoever. It's a stealth level and my god, it's eerie as all hell. Buy it!

I do. That game is a awesome horror game. I bought it day 1. Just to let you know the story is very very confusing.

u should try siren if u have the ps3 or ps2 but i find the ps3 one better
Silent Hill 2/3 are my top scary games with REmake right behind. Silent Hill was certainly a more psychological scare with its heavy atmosphere. In REmake, the tension of not knowing when the Crimson Heads would rise again really spooked me a few times, they really amped up the game to a new level never reached in the original.
I played a few minutes of Fatal Frame on PS2 (not sure which one) but it was definitely spooky. Might look into it again sometime.
I shall come out of my temporary hiatus simply to say "System Shock 2" in this thread; I feel it needs it.
The "cIassic" horror games simply don't scare me, but there's just something about SS2 that horrifies me every time I play through it.
Interesting timing :Pthepwninator
oh man, i was told about some guy who literally went insane after playing sh2 and ended up killing himself in a mental hospital. serious story.i actually know someone who had a seizure that her doctor said was from the negative images in her mind from stress and playing Silent Hill 2 for hours on end

Sorry dude, Siren Blood Curse is 10x scarier :D
Bioshockownz, is this the hospital level you were talking about? Random pic I found lol
I don't know about you guys, but Left 4 Dead scares the **** out of me. CleanPlayer
Really? My 4 year old watched me play L4D.... he's all "Daddy shoot the bad guys, YaaahhhH!!!!"
I said "Doesn't this scare you"
he says "no"
I don't particularly like him seeing things like that.... but whatever, it doesnt scare him, he doesnt have bad dreams and he's a well adjusted kid. But maybe thats because I actually spend time with him, talk to him, and explain the difference between reality & fiction and right & wrong.

I've never played it, just the demo actually lmao. It's pretty much like F.E.A.R., Silent Hill 2, and System Shock combined with better graphics. Thats a good thing too! lmao
lol we tried to play the first one as a group in my friend's basement back in middle school but it was so scary we could only play it for like 5 minutes at a timepaullywog
I really can't picture myself playing scary games in the dark and in the basement. Honestly I'm used to playing scary games, but not in the dark :(
I always wanted to play a Fatal Frame, but always forgot to look around for one. -Goes to search ebay.-
EDIT: Do I need to play the first to understand the story?

Me neither. I mean Iv been in someones basement by myself with the lights off and its a scary ass atmoshphere. I thought something from the game was going to manifest itself and break through the door. I always play with my lights off in my room with horror games, but sometimes I make a excuse to turn the lights on so I wont feel like such a wuss. I honestly never beat SH1-3 cause I would get into it and not have the balls to keep going.
No. I think all the stories are separate.I always wanted to play a Fatal Frame, but always forgot to look around for one. -Goes to search ebay.-

I agree that is one scary game. And while some might laugh at me I'm finding Dead Space pretty scary as well.IbacaiDead Space is AMAZING! The controls are clunky but the story and whole feel rocks out loud! Turn off the lights and be spooked!
