Looks like CDs is trying to match Bethesda a least in sheer quality. They know where the community is at. Unlike *cough Rockstar who tries to stop it.
Open world RPG’s, especially those made by Bethesda tend to benefit from an immensely long shelf life, selling many units long after the game’s release. This is partially down the mammoth amount of content included in the games, but is also because the developer allow gamers include mod tools that allow gamers to alter the game in new and interesting ways. Developer CD Projekt Red promises that the mod tools found in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” will be just as deep and nuanced.
“During the development of the game we had to create many new things, many tools, and at this moment, this software, the REDKit, our REDEngine, is good but it’s complicated to use. Now we’re working to make it easier for the public, and then we will release it, we want to give as much freedom as possible so that you can do everything you want.”
