News:

The Rumble now available in stores!

Rumble is back with the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller for PLAYSTATION 3. These have shipped to store shelves as we speak, so you can pick one up now. Now I know that the list of compatible games is the most important thing to you, so we're including that at the bottom of this post. The titles with an asterisk in the list below will require a patch in order to activate the rumble feature. The patch will automatically download to your PS3 if your console is connected online. If you are not connected online, check the PlayStation Knowledge Center for more information.

You can also keep an eye out for this icon:

This will be located on all new software releases that are DUALSHOCK 3 compatible.

Just to give you a small refresher course, the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller includes pressure sensors that rumble with each action. SIXAXIS technology is also included, so you can still use motion control, and the controller features Bluetooth technology for wireless gameplay. You can pick it up at any of the major retailers and at a cost $54.99 MSRP.

Here's the complete list of titles supporting the DUALSHOCK 3 at launch:

  • SCEA - Formula One Championship Edition* (PS3)
  • SCEA - MotorStorm* (PS3)
  • SCEA - Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3)
  • SCEA - PAIN (PSN)

PlayStation Home

_________________________________________________________

Gamespot/IGN/GameTrailers

A massive world built into the PlayStation Network, Home is Sony Computer Entertainment's virtual world for PlayStation gamers. With an avatar uniquely customized according to each user's preference, users can explore the 3D community that is Home -- a sleek, modern environment featuring spacious common areas, custom spaces dedicated to specific games, and personal apartments. Everything can be customized to your liking with items you collect or purchase.

Not only is Home your home online with PlayStation 3, Home is also a vast network of communication for PlayStation users. Browse the Hall of Fame for trophies players have collected in various videogames, or just hang out in a virtual outdoor lobby to talk with text and voice. Other features in Home include a theater where the Home world also users can watch videos from one users' collection together, a series of mini-games that players can play, and much more as Home evolves.

IGN PlayStation Home Previewed-You've no doubt heard of Home thanks to a pre-conference leak out of popular gaming blog Kotaku, and as it turns out, a lot of the early rumors were true. Users do get their own Mii-like avatar to represent themselves in Home's Virtual space, and there is an achievement-type system that awards players with trophies for accomplishing specific tasks (unofficially known as "milestones").
Described as "the first of its kind," Home is an avatar-based virtual neighborhood built on the shoulders of every PS3 owner who participates. Offered as a free download from the PlayStation Store, the new networked feature installs a unique icon to your XMB and then launches just like a game does. Once connected, users are able to join online games, go shopping, talk with other people, and mess around with various media types for as long as they see fit. And to be honest, it's actually pretty cool.

In the late 1980's, the stars of the Tokyo Motor Show were without doubt, the sports cars. However, the sports car category was not forever glorious as it approached the 21st century. Up against the head winds of subjects such as energy crisis or emission control, the sports cars faced a period of lying low, awaiting their time to come around.

Their time is now.

October 26th, 2007. The opening day of the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007, will introduce to the world a colorful range of sports cars, which over-ride the head winds with their striking innovations. The new GT-R, successors of the NSX and the Supra, the Lancer Evolution X, the Impreza Sti version, the Lexus LF-A and so on. Big names across the Japanese sports car genre, new and better, as if this were a revival of the 1989 show. Together with these revolutionary sports cars, "Gran Turismo" will take another big step forward starting with the introduction of "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue". Those who have the opportunity to play this title are sure to be taken by surprise with the overwhelming advancements to "Gran Turismo" made possible by the "PLAYSTATION®3" and its network features.

10 years from its debut in 1997, "Gran Turismo" will paint the history of car life simulation another color.
The award-winning Gran TurismoTM franchise returns with its 5th installment, Gran TurismoTM 5 Prologue, exclusively for PLAYSTATION®3. With its signature realism and unrivaled physics, this highly anticipated precursor to Gran TurismoTM 5 continues to blur the line between simulation and reality.

I can practically guarantee you that this isn't what the mod was talking about. With all the inactive UCBs and unions out there, there are plenty of boards you could have chosen. Legacy is one of the most active boards, and doesn't belong here at all.

Resistance 2

____________________________________________________________

Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers

DICE 2008: Resistance 2 Video Interview- February 8, 2008
Irresistable info from Insomniac Games' President and CEO.

IGN PlayStation's Most Anticipated Games of 2008- January 25, 2008
Find out what games the PlayStation team is looking forward to most this year.

IGN PlayStation 2008 Preview- January 18, 2008
We single out the hottest upcoming games of the year and offer our predictions for the next 12 months.

The sequel to the PS3-exclusive shooter will feature bigger co-op and multiplayer battles, as well as two full campaigns.

FEATURES:

  • The game will feature the standard single-player campaign as well as an eight-player online co-op campaign that's objective-based. Two people can still work together locally.

  • Ready to beat each other senseless online? Resistance 2 will feature 60-player matches set in the United States.

  • Sorry, Rachel; the campaign will pick up from Fall of Man's epilogue and stick solely with Nathan Hale as he copes with getting shot down in Iceland, escaping to the states and joining the "Sentinels" program.

  • There will be ****s. Characters will start out from one of three basic templates -- a "tank-****" soldier rocking a chain gun, a "Special Ops ****" that seems like a sniper or a medic whose "Medicator" gun will hurt enemies and heal allies -- and go from there.

  • When you and a team of friends head into battle, there will not be a selectable difficulty. Insomniac will be auto-scaling the challenge to the skill of you and your squad. When you jump into a random online match, you'll be teamed with partners and opponents who are around your personal level.

  • "Personal" is going to be a big word in Resistance 2. The game will have dedicated servers for gaming, community and stats as well as gamer profile pages on myresistance.net. In-game, the setup will be completely open when it comes to clans and parties -- the era of invites has come to a close.

  • Vehicles are in the game, but Insomniac wouldn't let on about their role.

  • The game's set in the '50s, but expect a more modern U.S. landscape as well as a focus on the aerial side of the Chimeran attack.

  • The game's AI has been overhauled -- they have improved routines and detachable armor pieces -- and boss battles will be more important than ever.

i really dont see why youre spending so much time making a huge thread with information people already know or will find easier other ways. all that its going to do is encourage flaming when you put in in SW and all the work will be for nothing. not trying to be rude its just the way things always are when someone makes these things

nice thread but you include games like Heavy Rain that hasnt even been on the radar for years. I mean they just annoucned what the game is about... but its still vague. Theres no screenshots/videos for awhile now.

However, you should include games that are comming out this year: Little Big Planet or Socom. Final Fantasy XIII and Versus are most likely comming out 09 though. Im not sure when White Knight Chronicles is supposed to come out

Other than that, its a great list
