So much fun to just shoot your weapons in this game, and lots of great variation in ammo types.(Also, best shotgun ever).

Battlefield 3 has really good gunplay though nerfs have made some guns feel a little too samey and it's ruined by a terrible suppression mechanic.
on a sheer technical level I'd say Arma III. There is so much to take into consideration when shooting in that game
lastly STALKER had some pretty robust shooting
FEAR would be way up at the top if not for the fact it came out in 2005Â
Borderlands. Everything just felt fun to shoot, good new guns conveyed a good sense of power, and there was always something crazy to find. Borderlands 2 actually went a bit too far with it with the manufacturer-specific traits, because if you don't like a particular manufacturer's drawbacks, there's no chance of finding a gun you like from them, whereas in BL1 you could at least find a few guns that weren't totally out of the question for you from any given manufacturer.lowe0
I thought the actual shooting in borderlands was the weakest part :( shooting in borderlands was just boring for me.
The Darkness 2 or Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.freedomfreak
Glad you brought it up, completed my second playthrough today, and the gunplay is awesome, definitely didn't expect such a great FPS game for 15 EUR.
Aside from that, I really loved the gunplay in FEAR (does that count?), and in Far Cry 3 (Blood Dragon as well). Guess there are many more I could mention, but not in the thinking mood at the moment! :P
EDIT: Oh, wait, forgot about RAGE, must mention that one... as flawed as the game was, the shooting was excellent!
If you count how enemies react to being shot to gunplay, I can't even think of a single FPS that did it as good as Max Payne 3 or RDR.
Standard ragdoll death animations need to die, we need more dynamic stuff like Euphoria.

I agree with you,but did you play RAGE because the enemies did have fantastic animations when you shot them.

This is true... it's also why I consider Max Payne 3 easily the best TPS this gen. While there are some high quality FPS games around, in terms of gunplay, nothing beats Max Payne 3. Would indeed be awesome if engines like Euphoria were more utilized.

Yea,as far as TPS Max Payne 3 was in a class of its own.
I wouldn't call massive input lag amazing feel but to each his own.Killzone 2 had amazing gunplay in terms of feel.Â

I consider F.E.A.R. current gen because, while the NA version was released a few weeks before the 360's release, the Japanese version released about a month aftwards. So I count it! :P

No, I didn't play it yet. Might pick it up when it's cheap some time :)

I think Rockstar signed a deal with Natural Motion so only they can use Euphoria animations in their games. Kind of disappointing, it should be industry standard, or at least something similar to it.As for me I greatly enjoyed bullet storm gunplay and combat overall shame we won't be getting a sequel.
