Seriously I'm surprised that they didn't shutdown back in September when they laid off all of their employees. Anyways they are gone for good now.

The rise & fall of Telltale. I really like Telltale Batman, it's the only game I played by them and I totally like how they handle Bruce Wayne's origin as his parents were gun down by not just a random stranger, it was an assassination which I totally dig it.
Oh well, it's a damn shame they are gonna be miss, but their main mistake was buying all of those licensing from Batman, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, & Guardians of the Galaxy and nothing to show for. They spent all that money on licensing, rather than hiring decent writers & didn't see nothing of returns. Let this be a lesson to any developer/publisher out their, don't buy too many license properties and not seeing any profits can lead to a shutdown. Too bad Telltale didn't see that coming before it was too late.
Damn I really wanted Wolf Among Us 2.
same
The one solid IP they did decently well, besides Batman. Walking Dead went to shit, and that was their claim to fame. Please God, let a more competent dev pick up The Wolf Among Us.
Gotta do my Al Gore on South Park " I was right" routine.
I called it. I called well in advance the collapse of telltale games and no one wanted to listen. The telltale signs of declining sales and weaker reception were there. Its was not unexpected for those paying attention.
Not sad at all. I remember seeing announcements to a new Batman game or Guardians of the Galaxy or Game of Thrones and being excited, only to find out it was one of their shitty games where I'm forced to slow walk and select dialogue boxes.
I only bought seasons 1 and 2 of walking dead. They were pretty ok. I really enjoyed Tales from the Borderlands and Wolf among us that I got for free from Xbox gold. Was a neat concept that we will look back on. Games for when you don't feel like playing a game, some with some really good writing!
They screwed over a lot of the staff and hope they land on their feet.
Isn't this pretty well known news? Maybe I saw an early release.
I was never too compelled by their games, as novel as they were. The only game in recent memory that's had me caring much about dialogue is Destiny 2. That game is funny if you're listening closely.
I wish they just focused on a couple mainly wolf of us and batman. Walking dead could have finished at 2.
