I find steam better than Xbox Live cause the only Bill I have to pay is one that goes to my Service Provider.

No ****. I don't think any PS3 fanboy would be stupid enough to say otherwise. You might get some 360 fanboys though trying to justify XBLG rip off service.

I seriously can not remember a time when Steam was down. Sure the servers get swamped sometimes during the big sales, but just keep clicking they will connect.

CRAP, my power went out!!! Oh man, I forgot to put steam in offline mode and now I cant play my games!!fueled-system

Well if you aren't playing on a laptop and your power goes out, wouldn't it be rather hard to boot up your PC at all?

If you're referring to internet going out, it's still possible to put Steam on offline mode.

I assume Steam has many more servers in the states but it's ridicilous how in europe the service can be down for a full hour up to three without any explanation or downtime announcements. And no, it's not my internet...I confirmed many times in such cases if friends ere experiencing the same thing.

For the most part, yes. XBL still has more users with headsets, which is a big deal to me. They also sound better and it is way more common to get someone on the PC who has a scratchy mic from a cheap USB plug-n-play compared to what you would find on XBL.

I have had Steam go down once for me and it was really frustrating, but that was one time out of hundreds of other times that it worked great. They were even very accomadating when I lost the pw to my wife's steam account and couldn't remember the email to get the pw reset. They switched it over to my account (all her games were gifted from me so it made sense) and all was good. So I have no complaints. Steam rocks and the very very few times it is down are just little blips on my radar that I only remember for occassions such as this.

Yeah.... You are still making false statements. If your internet is down, never placed steam in offline mode, and you attempt to open up steam you get this:

See that "START IN OFFLINE MODE" button? Yeah. You click it.

Perhaps. But I wouldn't quite say it's the best in terms of deals. PS Plus is arguably better. By spending £30-£40 on Steam can you get equal to what you would get for an entire year membership of PS Plus? Could you even get equal to what I've got on PS Plus in the few months I've been a member? Plus the fact games on PS Plus are free gives you the advantage of trying games that fell under your radar and it allows you play games you wouldn't have even considered playing before. It's really easy to get sleeper hits on Plus and find you enjoy games you would have never thought you would, whereas even the best deals on Steam won't be free, therefore you won't think about trying it unless it's a game you were already interested in.

I met some players with really crappy mics on XBL too, or the ones that sit 3 inchs from the screen with the TV on full blast.

First, Steam is free and accessible to anyone. no need to be a paid member to enjoy steam features. Valve DLC's free (L4D 2, TF 2). Second, cheapest deals, awesome bundle packs compared to XBL/PSN.Easy joining mp games. no lag or hassle much unless you got low bandwith.

only cons of steam are some regular patches as TF 2 or you have to wait to dl a 3 gb patch before playing for some games as Skyrim ETC.

more nifty features of steam acheivements, cloud saving feature,gifting/trading.

How many of you find steam to be better online service than XBL,PSN or XBL/PSN to be better than steam?

indzman
XBL does have cloud saves as well. I don't care for STEAM's DRM where you have to be online to play a game. Every XBox 360 and XBL game has achievements. XBL is up 24/7/365 of the year. It's very rare when it's down. Most of my friends are playing on XBL and not STEAM. Makes it pretty easy to pick one.

Put Steam into offline mode then. What's your issue with being online all the time anyway? You just bigged up XBL being up 24/7 so internet connectivity mustn't be an issue for you so what's the complaint?
