Hmm I bet GW2 will be released after this. I feel SW:tor is going to be a huge failure. Dunno why. Maybe too generic?

That's the vibe I've been getting from it. Personally I would be more confident in its success if the budget wasn't so enormous. Yes. The budget combined with its genericicitiouslism is creating that feeling. They have to sell so many, for so long, and the chances seem so slim with previous failures, and with the issues of general MMO's still present in SW:tor? The only way to beat WoW at its game, seems to be to make a more magically attractive world, with more attractive races, with more polished gameplay. Which is, essentially, trying to beat Blizzard at the things that they excel at so far that they are the favourite developer of many. That is almost impossible. Maybe this game simply doesn't have much chance to succeed at all. The only chance seems to be the window of opportunity created by GW2's delay, and its smaller budget, the name of the SW universe, and the boredom of ex-WoW players. I don't think that window is all that big.
I think guild wars 2 will be better. Seems like TOR's only real draw is the star wars setting, the gameplay seems meh, the cool thing i guess is the voice acting [which GW2 is doing] Not to mention F2P is taking over P2P. WOW my post made no sense. eh.

I'm sticking with SWTOR because the visuals are nice and cause it's Star Wars, not another generic fantasy setting. Also, GW2 is starting to resemble GW1, which was god-awful

GW1 was far from awful. Was for me. It was so heavily instanced, didn't even feel like an mmo. Couldn't jump, combat was more clunky and less fluid than WoW.
That is because Guild Wars 1 was not an mmo. It was an online rpg but not a massively multiplayer online rpg.
I agree that combat was more clunky than WoW's, but the spells and skills were far more well designed, especially the buffs and debuffs.

I did see one guy who played the beta who trashed it. But other than that the rest of the people on this side was positive regarding the beta. I do know some people outside this site though who played the beta and they werent too happy about it.
Oh and according to the NDA, people are not supposed to be talking about their beta experiences.
Furthermore, some complaints you dont need to actually play the game to see what is wrong with things. Like the whole controversy regarding the Foundry.
I have said it once and I will say it again, this game ain't that good. While I like bioware's direction with voice overs asside from that this game does nothing really different from what is available on the market now. They will struggle to hold subscribers. Stick with wow.

Do you actually know much about the game ? I can't see how this game is doing is not doing something really different. It seems totally different from wow.

Lol. You trying to save the WoW fanbase thats been leaving in drones for quite a while now? Really, it is good to know you've played the game extensively already. Its also good to know you know a lot about the game and have put effort into looking up facts about it.
I was excited for this game when announced. But it really doesn't look that fun. I'll wait and see

Same here, I heard about it and I was like "OMG A NEW KOTOR GAME" But then they announced it was going to be a stupid MMO. So I knew it was going to be bad, plus the graphics suck. It can't hold a candle to the great looking games like Uncharted (the graphics standard IMO).
