Galyonkin said that STALKER 2’s announcement was made this early to drum up excitement for the project and allow GSC to get a publishing deal at E3.

According to them, STALKER 2 is still in a design document stage, which is a very early, pre-production stage. Galyonkin does not work for GSC, but they’re privy to this information because the studio is licensing Unreal Engine for the development of the game.

Galyonkin also shared that members of original STALKER development team are working on STALKER 2 at the moment, adding that it’s a different team from the one responsible for the Cossacks RTS games.

Hmm. who will be a publisher? THQ nordic? Deep silver? Bethesda? hope one of them.

Im glad they didnot go with crowdfunding route as we see the track record of kickstarter project they either not released or released with bugs and glitches.

for ambitious project like this. publisher funding is must.

So they are using Unreal Engine 4 nice that means a lot less bugs and poor optimization. I pray that its a publisher like Paradox or THQ Nordic.

Money is probably tied up until they get some revenue from Metro Exodus. THQ has too many subsidiaries going on and they have some kind of partnership with Nickelodeon but including their recent acquisition of Koch, I'd say all their money is pretty well tied up and STALKER 2 is going to be risky venture no matter how much praise people give the original.

I'm just surprised it took this long, too bad former GSC tried to fraud all those kickstarter backers when they were under another studio name so they just reopen GSC. Sounds like some scrupulous people and I really doubt they'll pick up enough funding to do STALKER 2 justice. UE4 engine can't save a poorly funded game from sucking.

I'll check it out again in the year 2023 then I guess. Let's just hope it doesn't get canceled before. Or that I still give a shit about STALKER in 2023.

it has more chance to release than scam citizen. atleast they are being honest and not collecting our money in the name of crowd funding.

I hope its EA, MS, WB or Activision. Must have a battle royale multiplayer mode. Oh and micro transaction in both single player and multiplayer.

Is the STALKER IP even useful to GSC anymore?

Have to wonder if they'd get more done by selling it to another company. A few years ago, I would say that even Bethesda would be a better owner for STALKER than GSC, with Crytek being the more ideal owner due to Crysis' weapon attachment system and the CryEngine's ability to render larger environments. Have to wonder if STALKER 2 will prove me wrong.

Is there a publisher in the world that could treat this game right? At least attempt to get something promising to show to people, so you can Kickstart it. Get that train rolling.
