So...Who Did Anyone Win Gamespot's Greatest Sidekick Competition?

Okay, as a potential Grand Prize Winner, I know this sounds really rude, but I'm really curious as to Gamespot's silence regarding the Greatest Sidekick Competition. Let me state for the record, I'm fine if I do not recieve a prize (Though I won't lie, I'd really like the prizes.); I just want to know if ANYONE won so I can stop hoping to hear something regarding the contest (The previous competition winners were announced publically on the site, so I don't think this is unreasonable to expect).After Launchpad was announced the winner, we've heard nothing from Gamespotpubliclyabout the winners, nor have I heard anything privately concerning the matter. This is my first time in the position of actually winning something significant, so maybe I'm just not aware of all the legal red tape that would slow this process down, but it's almost been half a month since the close of the competition and there has been no word.

Again, all I'm asking is for some clarification and closure concerning the contest. Just an official word letting us know if anyone won, or if the process is still ongoing, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry Mods for reposting this in System Wars, where I'm sure it's not the best place to post. But seeing as how the Greatest Sidekick forums were removed (Which would have been the best place to post this) shortly after the close of the competition, I felt this was the best place for my message to be seen.

I can't link anything but believe me, this contest was trolled the Hell out of. Yoshi and Luigi didn't even make the Final Four. Albert Einstein got to the finals.

The dude in the comments has a point. It seems as though the game was setup to push certain characters forward (why would joke characters like launchpad be in the original running in the first place?) so I am glad he won!

I stopped voting when i saw who Einstein won against.

Launchpad McQuack beat Einstein to become the champ.

I blame GameSpot as much as I blame the trolls. Youadd characters like Launchpad as greatest sidekick and you know the trolls will come out. Hero got trolled with Bub and Bob beating Master Chief, Sonic AND Samus. GS went and said Bub and Bob lose due to proxy votes so Samus moved forward after.

In the end we had a respectable showdown between Mario and Gordon Freeman.

The villain contest got the crap trolled out of it too. General RAAM for instance is a great boss, but a great villain? Hardly. He made it to the top four. At least Sarah Kerrigan beat Darth Vader for the win though.

The sidekick contest on the other hand was a lost cause. Every major character lost to a minor character right from the get go. GS didn't even announce the winner on their homepage, it was so sad.

Well its not like there are many great sidekicks. With the greatest hero contest, at least there was too much love for them for that contest to get really trolled, and who doesn't love Gordon Freeman right?

The contest was a joke. One site and it affiliatied sites had complete control over the results of the contest.

The character with the most votes won. Maybe if you would have put in more effort and got your friends to vote, your character would have won.

They took out the the proxy votes doe. Plus, you can't call everyone who didn't vote for Tails or Luigi a troll.

I was actually wondering that myself, it's been a while so you should have heard something. Doesn't seem fair at all that you wouldn't get not even recognition as to being the winner. Regardless I wish someone did answer the OP's question.
