Wow holy crap, 5.2 million copies of God of War 3 sold? That's amazing. In fact that's higher than Gears of War 2, and as high as GT5:P and MGS4 :)

But also more amazing that the PS3 with 55 million units sold 5.2 million copies of GOW3 but PS2 which has like 155 million units sold "only" 4.2 million / 4.6 million of GOW1-2

Very impressive sales for GOW III, it beat the first two with half the install base. I'm pretty surprised at Chains of Olympus selling 3+ million too, impressive for the PSP.

It also shows that Chartz website is a fraud as they had all the GOW games highly under tracked. Ive always thought they were run by 360 fanboys, and having one of PS3s biggest exclusives under tracked by nearly 1 million shows their lack of credibility. drakekratos

VGChartz is horrible for any console, not just for the ps3. Period.

Anywho, great numbers! I'm happy that GOW3 managed to sell 5M+, it deserved it. The game had some problems, but those boss fights were excruciatingly fun.

I don't think anyone could deny God Of War of being incredible awesome. +1 to GoW

God of War 3 sold just as much as Halo Reach did, in fact it outsold every other Xbox exclusive including Gears, Alan Wake, Fable, and Forza. Not that sales matter, because they don't, but it just throws a wrench into the "no one buys PS3 games" myth that Lemmings tell themselves.

God of War Acension proves how much power the PS3 has left, it was jaw dropping. Same with The Last of Us. Those are the new console graphics kings.

its because games like GOW, LBP and Uncharted have enormous legs. They don't sell 3 million week one but they do sell very well over time. People always laugh at games like Killzone and Infamous and wonder why those games only sell like 1M in its first month but the truth is, those games actually reach like 3M in lifetime sales by the time the sequel is released. Why do think Sony keeps on making sequels for those ? cause they sell. Nonstop-Madness

Yep, basically this. And most PS3 games are neck and neck with 360 games in sales. Here is the proof:

And the funny thing too is, the best selling Xbox game isn't Halo. It's actually Kinect Adventures. So according to Lems who think more sales = quality, then that must mean Kinect Adventures is the best game ever right? lol. It's all right there, I proved it. Though they will run and try to Damage Control it lol.

The truth is that neither system really sells games better than the other. But it's also true that most PS3 exclusives outsell most 360 exclusives. See the links if you don't believe me.

MS hasn't released offical sales numbers for Reach yet, those are the most current released numbers. While there were no doubt still some Reach sales after 2011, it's safe to assume that most of the people already bought Reach and the number of sales for it is somewhere in the 5 million.

Which is the same as God of War 3, but not as much as Gran Turismo. So again, the whole "no one buys PS3 games" is BS.
