Sony launches PlayStation Vita sale to celebrate console's first birthday

Up to 50% off games, with further discounts for Plus subs

PlayStation Vita is nearing its first birthday, and to celebrate Sony has launched a decent sale on games.

The sale starts tomorrow, 6th February and runs for two weeks. There's up to 50 per cent off Vita games, with further discounts for PS Plus subscribers.

Highlights include PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for £15, Rayman Origins for £15 and Everybody's Golf for seven quid.

For those of you wondering whether to take a punt on any of these games given the chance they may be offered for free as part of the Plus rotation, Sony's Fred Dutton said none are included in March's Plus update. Beyond that, though, no guarantees

So after neglecting the Vita for the past year, all of a sudden Sony wants to be a good parent and throw their destined to fail child a birthday party?

Surely great news for those interested in PSV but havent got one yet...

No they don't, they need to lower the prices on the memory cards ! Remember when they annaunced the price, everybody thought it will be higher !

The price as it is, for the quality and capability of the hardware is right !!!

My 16gb is full with only games !

When memory card prices do drop it won't be by a lot. The 32gb will probably be $80. Does saving $20 really mean that much to some people.p4s2p0

$20 is nothing for most people, which is why they would have no problem buying something like this

Thats funny because people pay $100 more for a 32gig Iphone over the 16gig all the time.

Thats funny because people pay $100 more for a 32gig Iphone over the 16gig all the time.  

Drawing a comparison in pricing between Sony and Apple isn't doing anyone favors considering Apple is notorious for overpricing their products.

Sony acknowledges the Vita's existance? that's news to me.

No they actually need to cut the prices on the hardware and include a memory card for free. I can by any platform other than the vita and save my games free of charge. I should not have to pay $100 just to store game data. Plus, time has shown that $250 dollars is just way too much for a handheld. If the 3DS could not sell at $250 then the Vita can't either.

You could store about 9 games on a 32 GB card, which costs $100. Even if the games were free, that would cost more than $10 per game. Of course, this point is moot until the Vita actually gets 9 games worth playing.PurpleMan5000

Good on you Sony for doing something for the Vita's birthday. I wonder what they will do next year for it's funeral?

Hopefully it isn't too little too late. It is sad how they have handled it, because it is a great handheld with great potential. Too bad Sony has completely neglected in it's first year.
